New Grower Starting a 32oz party cup grow

Well since I can't find any of the seeds I really really want (but I do want those MI5 !! I'm just a lil broke and paranoid at the moment) I figured I'd occupy my time and germ a few seeds I had. Till I pay off 3k in tickets and you know work 3 jobs and go to school full time.

These seeds were not mid-brick weed. It was 20$ a gram chit.

The first batch had very light green and fat seeds in one batch. Allegedly "mango kush" I only had 3 of those. :no:

I scored from a different guy some type of HIGH HIGH grade bud; but he said the guy growing it had a male close by and busted a load all over the ladies. I could tell. I found 6 fully developed seeds in that batch. THAT BAG APPEAL OF THE BUD HOWEVER WAS LIKE I'VE NEVER NEVER SEEN!

Day 1:

Threw the seeds in two different cups, one labeled "mango" the other "appeal". I have no clue what strain they really are for the record.

I will follow up on them to see if they sink in 24-36 hours and place them in jiffy pods asap.

The party cups are 32oz and will have a smaller cup under each one to catch the drainage so I can measure the PH. They will also be labeled M1 M2 M3 and A1 A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 respectively. I plan to actually keep atleast one male so I can have more seeds of High Grade bud rather than some mid-brick beans. (IM POOR REMEMBER?)

The soil is Miracle Grow organic although I may go to lowes or home depot and pick up some PRO-MIX. Im not sure Im trying to do everything on the cheap.

The PH meter is coming no doubt. But I dont think Ill need it for the first 3 weeks just a minute amount of plain water 2-3 times daily. From what I understand thats what party cup grows like.

I have a Advance Nute retailer near buy but I probably wont need to purchase jack till about a month from now anyway.

The lighting is going to be 4-5 cfls. Im not sure if thats enough or not. :coffe:
The lighting will be roughly 18-20 on and 6-4 off. Then after about a month Ill go to 12/12.

What do you guys think about my grow? Am I off to bad start? I just want to do this simple and easy while I wait for legal issues to be solved. Ill also be bud free for 2 months while these babies grow. I hope I dont screw this up

What up, sorry to hear Of your troubles. I wouldn't recommend miracle grow, it has like time release nutes which isn't ideal. Id Recommend get 3 bags.. 1 perlite. 1 peat moss. 1 vermiculite. It's a good basic medium.. May run u 15-25 bucks for 3 small bags. Ph meter I would have it before 3 weeks.. Just in case some problems were to arise u need to act quick and figure out problem.. One of the first things involved in that process would be to check ph. For the lighting yeah.. It will work... But I wouldn't expect much yield wise. What spectrum will you be using? I didn't see you mention a fan.. Or any vent system. I would recommend looking into that.... For keeping things cool and fresh!

Bro that miracle grow .....Yacks ....pay for the promix ....its way with it ......MG is shit and the flavor is gross in bud ......u doing some good Flav ored give it them the best u can .......or coco that is my favorite ....u wanna do organic look up JUST RIGHT XTRA .....15 dollars should fill ur cupS of JRX!!!! ......both those soils have the microbe beazties and will do better justice for ur babies ......

Although Photo strains need way mire dirt then that ..u gonna transplant them!!!!

I kinda stalk muddy and other people on the forum to see what they like to do when they grow. I found that muddy likes to use pro-mix which can be found at home improvement stores; also I tried researching on using miracle grow "organic" and "seedling starter" the forums say that its good. I think its just a few bucks. I will try the perlite peatmoss vermiculite mix once I actually get some certified and bonafide beans. BTW is it a 1:1:1 mix of Perlite peatmoss and vermi?

You are very right. The CFL is not enough for a decent yield. Im doing this for fun and to kill time while I get "sober". I dont want to make a failed effort. So Ill pick up some extra Y's and a few more cfls and make a PCV lighting rig. That wont be untill next check how ever. Right now Im not sure how many will actually germinate and if I will get some girls. I hope I get atleast 2 girls out of 9 plants.

I have at my disposal a plethora of CFLs I cannabolized a few from my bathroom and bedroom. I have 12 total at my disposal and I went one by one checking watts and lumens. most are the 26watt the ones Im using for the first 2 weeks are 42 watters.

Ill def buy a PH meter before I spend cash on anything else. (other than the soil of course)

I didnt answer some of your concerns/questions about my grow.

I have a Vornado that is constantly "on" in my room. I plan on keeping it on a low setting while Im away and on hi when Im in my room.
As far as the stench Im not concerned because I wont be growing alot and I own my house.

Yeah tomorrow after work Ill pass by the store and buy some pro-mix just to be safe.

Na bro I wasnt thinking about transplanting them, just wanted to grow them in the cups for about 4-5 weeks on a 18-20 hour schedule then switch to 12/12 for 4-5 weeks. I hope to have some decent bud to smoke for christmas and new years (my birthday!!). Then actually get started on a MI5 Grow because atleast stitch has reg/fem seeds avail so you can breed your own seed.

Cfls can give you a good yield if you have around 100w per plant. I have used them with some success and members like Noods(cfl master) grows beautiful plants with them. :smokebuds:

Yeah man autos can rock in that environment ....maybe u should still be able to yield sunny ...but I couldn't answer that .......I do know WVR. goes from that size to say 1 -2 gal group bags by that in a tent row ....good luck man there's a female or 3 in there ....and if u say its that good bro shit give it a shot who knows what can happen!!! ....its a weed like they say!!!!

No worries :howdy: mr. Muddy most certainly knows his stuff. And yup I'd just pre mix all 3 bags. I personally right now am using a 50/50 fox farm light warrior and ocean forest. Happy growing mate! I wish ya the best of luck!

Also keep in mind guys I dont really know what the strains I have are and most likely they are photo sensitive strains.
I do have a picture of the blunt of the "appeal" I smoked that I tooke with my 3 mp camera phone. Every one that has seen it really really liked it. Ill post it up but I gotta get some shut eye. Talk to you guys soon.
