New Grower Start up (11/6/22)

Jarred too late!
So hang drying is definitely not an effective option when Im gone 12 hours a day almost every day. It seems to have made the difference between the right moisture content and way to goddamn dry.

Its in jars and the jar with 2 of the 3 main colas has slowly climbed to 48% humidity in the jar the other hasnt stepped up past 41% yet. Humidity packs on the way but wont be here till late tomorrow. We'll see how it turns out. As of right now stuff gets me higher than a giraffes nutz so Im good if the flavor and smell were ruined by the rapid drying just wish that hadnt happened. Either way I clipped a couple small fresh leaves off its sister plant and put 1 in each jar so that should help rehydrate it a bit.

So with the addition of the leaves the rh seems to have leveled out at 64-66% buds near the bottom of the jars are still dry though so the moisture hasnt worked its way through yet

Day 99
More of a picture update. Spread the remaining peyote critical, lowered the light about 4 inches bumped up the clip on an havevit shooting directly under the light to the other corner. Blowing the air pretty much directly around each plant as they are in opposite corners

First up the peyote followed by the watermelon from all 4 sides and some close ups

Day 100
Day 60 of flower on both the girls left. Went in the tent as soon as lights came on and I gotta say I love that this late in flower. The smell pours out so strong at night and its just so nice.

With that said the peyote has started emitting some serious skunk odors. Like I got sprayed by a skunk as I was unzipping the door. This makes me happy because it was really starting to lose its odor during the past couple weeks. Got very mild and plant like again.

It kinda seems like everything Ive grown has done this to some extent. Very strong odors then it tapers off a bit and gets strong again. Just wondering is this common or is this just my personal experience? Like am I just getting accustomed to it so I dont notice it as much...idk I notice that I become "nose blind" relatively quickly. Either way I wanna live inside my tent right now because it smells so good. The watermelon zkittles has no skunkiness to it just a very sweet watermelon candy smell to it. Also amazing. Hope it comes out in the cure.

Theres still a good chunk of clear trichs buried deep down there, hard to get a nice pic when I zoom in too far. But amber is starting to pop up everywhere on the very tops on both so Im thinking 10 more days max on both. I wanna chop them both at the same time all together so I can dry in the tent.

Humidity packs
My humidity packs came in. They are ice cold, dont know if that will effect them but I threw one pack in each jar since theres only a little over an oz in each jar. I believe I got the right size. Website says size 8 for an oz in storage. But the package says size 8, for 8 grams...but also says up to 1 oz so idk.

i use the integra ones i think it says 8 on it too. I have a tendency to over dry and have to jam like 8 in there forever it takes to get it up but soon as its good I take all but one out and they seem to stay good then. Tho i do go through my weed fast. Like less then 2 months. They cure. So long term I have crossed that bridge yet.

Ok I was just about to throw up a post. I bought the bovida ones because it said on their website size 8 for an ounce and my rh in my jars has gone down to 55% from 61% after putting one in each. Theres about 36g in each jar so I guess Ill do the same and put a few more in each one. I was really under the impression I would only need one...

Pics
I took these earlier this morning but forgot to upload them.

Getting anxious, I just wanna cut em and move on to the next grow lmao. Probably next week though. The peyote is definitely fox tailing. All 3 tops have calyxs forming ontop of other calyxs. So this one is gonna be coming down soon for sure.

Since Im here Im having thoughts about my next grow. For sure doing barneys farm lemon tree and tangerine dream, both photos. Gonna try another elastic net and fill the canopy corner to corner. Splitting it right down the middle of both but since Im only doing 2 plants Im contemplating pot sizes.

Option A that comes to mind is doing 2-10 gallon pots. I can put them side by side and they will be far enough apart that training them will be easy enough. At their sizes theyd basically take up a lot of the tent anyway. I was thinking the extra room would be nice for the roots as I will probably be running a longer veg due to topping and defoliation. Also the increase in the amount of water each watering might help keep humidity more regular.

Option B came to mind realizing most of the floor space would be covered. What about getting a 45 gallon low rider pot and treating it like a raised bed by putting all my risers under it...although this would require finding a catch pan that fits my tent perfectly as Rain Science low rider 45 gallon is 33" in diameter.

I like this idea just because though it will take a lot of water to keep the soil from getting hydrophobic it provides plenty of room for the roots and all that water will keep the humidity at a relatively nice level. Also the low rider 45 is just short enough to not really block my passive intakes at all so it wouldnt really obstruct anything. The one con I can see to this is during the summer humidity might be too hard to control without a dehumidifier. Where as smaller pots and watering with less volume more often helps keep that down.

Option C is just getting slightly bigger at 7 gals. Honestly I was thinking of pushing 3 plants and doing a freebie photo along with this, digitial genetics Black DOG. Though I could still fill my tent with 3 photos in 7 gals with topping and lst, if Im only giving them each an extra 2 gals of volume to grow into, id probably opt to keep each one smaller and veg for a shorter period while trying to do the same thing.

Im horrible with choices though. But Im leaning towards the 2-10 gallon option. Just seems easiest.

Thinking of harvesting
Put a thread up on the questions and answers page. But im seriously considering pulling my other peyote

Its beginning to fox tail on multiple budsites and top most budsites have multiples on them brand new pistils popping up all over. Just wondering though because even though theres not many theres still some clear but a lot of amber trichs towards the top
