Indoor Squid's Second Grow-Duurty Dragon, Diesel Ryder & MI5

I got them for eventual side lighting and/or bulb failure on the main light, etc. I have used them for seedlings and veggies. IMHO, they are fantastic. I love T5HO in general and these are a great price, simple features and seem to be of good quality and build. I suggest getting the reflector with the light but it isn't necessary for function. Easy on/off switch and a shorter cable to link multiple lights to use one power cable. They are bright as hell and don't put out much heat at all. Mine are two foot. They have four foot too. If you can fit those, get 'em. We'll see how mine work out for getting the side of my plants later on in this grow :D I may get more for the size, power and low heat and ability to get around the bottom and sides of plants. 2,000 lumens each for the damn two footers I have.

Thanks for stopping by Mad Scientist.

Looks like Muddy solved this Squid, without knowing the distance of the lights. I was thinking maybe you overdid it with the sulfur. Are you checking the runoff? What's it running?

Yup. I was thinking a foot away to start out was ok, but not for seedlings apparently. It's all good I had my light raised up to 18 inches as directed within two minutes flat from when I saw Muddy's post.

My ph is great. I gave the first full water a couple days ago to the 7 that were ready. Feed in was 6.4 and runoff was anywhere between 6.1-6.25.

Thanks for you guys' help, as usual.

Thanks JM. Bleaching is the only thing I know that starts from the center of the leaf and works out.

haha! nice muddy! i couldnt figure it out....  :smokeit:

never occured to me

i figured by now squid had the light heights under control.... this is great for me cuz its both a reminder of "checklists" to run in my head for diagnostics... and a reminder that no matter how much a new memeber has learned and gotten really good at diagnostics... there may still be missing a few key things...

You're absolutely right. I had read somewhere that 12 inches was ok for T5 and cfl even for seedlings, and none of the others showed signs of bleaching, even the taller ones, so I was like 'what the hell?' lol Guess that isn't always the case though. Makes sense though, that Tek lamp puts out some solid light.

I'll see how they look in an hour or so when they wake up, I'm sure they're fine. I learn something new everyday here at this wonderful forum, thanks guys.

Hey guys. Just wanted to post a couple pics because I might have a slight issue... of course. These are both DDs.

First pic> For one it has a two fingered set of leaves on one side and three on the other. Pretty weird. And I am getting some yellowing too.

Second pic> Same deal here with the yellowing and this one has a tiny bit of tip burn. I guess some of these just didn't like even the tiny doses of BioRoot and Black Diamond that I soaked the Promix with beforehand. Lesson learned.

I had to water my 3 MI5 last night as they are drinking a day quicker than the DDs. They have sorta blown up overnight since the watering. Sorry gotta wait till Week Two for more pics of those, no problems there, they are beasts.

I watered the 3 DDs just now, this is when I noticed what's in the pics.

All plants have multiple roots in the bottom some are pretty long.
And all ph runoffs were spot on on everything.

Sulfer def will start from the backside of the leaf towards the front. Looks very similar to what you have going
On here. Also your not over watering again are you? They look a little soaked for a seedling. Just my :2cents: bro. Hope someone else chimes in. I've never used diamond black or the other and also never fed a seedling so someone else may have better experience with that.

other then the yellowing the girls look like theyre comin along nice..i hope you get that straightened out my man. my sis and her husband flew in my my homeland today, so i wont really be on much all weekend. ill catch up with ya to check up soon tho. good luck and take care buddy

yeah check watering and maybe a light dose of magnesium (1/4 tsp of epsom salts) next watering... looks kinda like magnesium... kinda young for a sulfur deficiency...

that looks like a little more than bleaching... but might still be coming around... :toke:

lookin fine overall though.... :toke:
