New Grower SPZ's Mephisto Triple Automatic Redux

I filled the res per Hans recipe, 15 l water, 0.5ml/L Silicate, 1.25ml/L calmag, 1ml/10L drip clean and 1.5 ml/L grow nutes. One thing Hans does not mention is that silicate is a strong base, it says on the bottle to add the silicate first, then ph the water down to regular levels again before adding the nutes. They weren't kidding, the silicate raised my tap water ph up from 6.4 to 9! I'm not sure if the ph perfect would fix this so I did use some ph down to get it back down to 6.4. I then added everything in the order listed. There is no need to stir the res as you add the ingredients, the submersible pump keeps it mixing constantly :stir:

When I finished I checked again and the ph was 5.9, as expected. Opened the valve to turn on the autopots and started the airdomes on the same timer as the lights. :shooty:

Day 22

Big developments! The girls took a field trip out of their tent to another corner of the basement for the first time. The reason being that I made some adjustments to the tent today, including adding a custom raised floor(!), improving the airflow, running the tubes for the autopots and airdomes, and setting up the reservoir and air pump! None too soon, they are drinking like crazy now, went through a liter each in two days and want more. Here they are in their improved digs!

The autopot reservoir and air pump are in the foreground. I think you will find this battle station is fully operational.
looking great !!! The wait is the hardest time. They seem not to be growing and then watch out.

I assume you made the pallet yourself? Looks so good in there. Sort of like an old IBM mainframe room with it's raised floor. Good job Captain, :yeah:

Now with the air domes and reserve turned on, watch them blow up.:yoinks:

Yup, that's the idea, raised floor for ventilation and routing cables and tubes and stuff. I'm going to post more details over in the setup thread... :goauto:

After all that I realized that Hans' schedule is for two autopots, whereas I have four. Haha that makes a difference, no wonder the autopot reservoir was only like 1/3 full! I added another 15 L of the same mix as before to try to get through five days. We'll see if I make, these girls are thirsty!

On a serious note I think those damn fungus gnats are starting to damage my plants. I haven't seen more than a few actual gnats but I've been looking into it and that spot that I thought was nute burn might be damage from the larvae. Here's what I'm seeing

I have some neem oil and I'm considering spraying the surface of the pots with a neem solution. I'm already putting out traps like no one's business. Any thoughts or advice are welcome!
