I've got white widow going which I've read it's a real drinker of these, in fact, I think I need mag just as I enter veg. I do Epsom salt and garden gypsum in my water and last week, as soon as I saw the pre-for for the main cola established, added in molasses as well. No sign of burn yet, fingers crossed. I'm on my first grow as well. You might get more traffic if you set up a grow journal in the new growers area.
As an aside, I've read you can't over do CalMag, but I wouldn't want to test that theory, either.

Whats up @Jackson ! So far things are looking good.just a suggestion but start the cal mag now and start at half strength,rhe plants will be getting some to start and if they need more up the strength. I am a coco hrower so no experience with gbd or roots, do you have a pH meter,test strips or a dropper kit? I may be wrong but distilled water may have a pH of around 7 which might be a bit high ..hold on,i have some walmart distilled in a gallon jug,lemme check it...

Hmmm,dont take these pics as gosple,i will double check the calibration on my meter tonight just to make sure,i didnt think RO/distilled would be this high..anyway..a pH test is a good habit as this will make sure the plant can use the nutes in the soil hey @Eyes on Fire ur an organic grower,am i way off with this info??

That sounds closer to what i thought,but low pH is as bad as high pH,worth keeping an eye on,anything added to the water can change the pH from the start number

ahh Distilled PH. yeah Ive heard of various places and regions will have wildly swinging PH balances. kinda shitty. but of course ppl cut corners and stuff so Quality Control can be out the window at times. ya need to source a solid place to get it from 6-7 is fine and where it should be actually. 7,neutral...
but with Lime in your mix and simple buffering capacity too, you'll be able to work easily outside of a full PH point or so. the more you work it,the faster it gets worked and used,meaning the power of SOME aspects of the buffering capacity will wain some. so just understand that when feeding well out of your PH range. it'll be ok, just the more you give it HIGH or LOW PH,can and will have an effect over the course of say four feedings of so. maybe three depending. swut Ive experienced anywhooo
