I've been a lurker for a while watching what some of you can do with autoflowers and I finally decided to give them a try! A friend of mine had some Sour60 seeds of a few different phenotypes, so I asked for one out of the bag labeled "Strong".

I planted the seed in an auto-water pot that you can buy online for about $25, and then waited until it sprouted. It took several days, but finally I had a set of little leaves. I put the pot onto a corner shelf in my house, and then hung a 21X-PRO LED Grow Light from Hydro Grow over the plant. It's actually really cute once all put together, and makes a nice medical decoration for the house (my wife and I are patients).

The pictures below are of the plant around day 7 or 10 after sprout (don't recall exactly how long as I didn't originally think to document this grow). Enjoy!

Around Day 21

So up until now we've just been feeding the plant with the small nutrient packs that came with the auto-water pot, as it uses primarily coco and I figured why not? But today I decided to step it up a notch, so I poured in a little Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice and Sweet into the reservoir to help promote more root growth. Once I need to add water again I'm going to give the plant some Iguana Bloom, which is the best organic nute I've ever used. I also did a bit of pruning to the lower limbs as I don't like suckers... These pictures are exactly 12 days after I took the first set, which puts us around Day 19-22.

Should of planted in 5 gallon. That LED is suppose to replace a 150w. Even if it replaces half that good enough to a huge plant in a 5 gal pot.

i'll third TBM's comments!

and would like to say

to the site bro!you'll love it here!

Nice!!! I like your little set up man, ya Phammy is right, the bigger the pot size, the more bud you get ;) But that dosnt really matter to everyone, some are just trying to get a little potent smoke, or have a learning experience! Anyways I like the setup, the little pot/LED r kool lookin, and the plant looks fairly healthy!!

Good Luck 2 u :smokebuds:

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I guess I forgot to mention the whole purpose of this grow for me: to see what is possible with the absolute minimal input. :D

The pot size is rather small, and I'm sure it will limit the growth to an extent, but it comes in handy when you leave home for a few days at a time so your plant stays watered. I'm interested to see what the root ball looks like once the grow is complete, as I'm sure it will overtake the entire container. I'll have to see if they make these auto-water pots in a larger size, as they're really quite nice for a single (small) plant.

I do have prior growing experience, but it's mainly been in Hydro. I did notice the stretching of the plant, which may be a phenotype thing, since mormally plants don't stretch so much under LED. Then again, I've never used such a small light before which might also have something to do with it (and I've never grown autoflowers).

Either way I just thought this would be a fun little experiment. Plant a seed in a tiny pot, put as little effort into the grow as physically possible, and see what comes of it. No temp control, CO2 control, PH, TDS, etc..., just add water with a little bit of nutes every other time and watch her grow  I'll be quite impressed if I get even an ounce off the plant, as the light itself only consumes about 28W (and the roots will eventually out-grow the container).

yeah the sour 60 does stretch ;)
