Im not opposed to requesting a cup bottom pic.
And you can also tell if the roots were really in or out of the cup. If they stay in. You will see a root bound root ball. Wrapping around cup.

If cut roots. We will see roots go to cup and cut off instead of curl and wrap.

But i do understand what you mean. Which is also why its a beauty contest and not a size contest. I feel you though some of these dwc set ups can be a bit intimidating.

You know that I would not have a problem taking pics of bottom for my weekly/biweekly updates. I set this hydro up in less than 1/2 hour with stuff I had. Intimidating? Yup..but I feel that if people wanted the biggest plant that they would have chose hydro. Some people chose not to because of possible combination of intimidation, increased care, or lack of space/gear. Which is absolutely their choice. I commend every in any type of solo cup grow...because regardless..its a bitch.

Like the outdoor grow last year the judging was based on the frost of one bud not a whole plant pic.
And I thought this is just for "FUN" .

It will be interesting to see the different methods in action.

I don't care about winning either, I care about fair play, & if you have a root ball at the bottom of the cup then you shouldn't hesitate to take a pic of the bottom & you also admitted that your going to snip your roots..

Someone admitted*

i think the main issue with this kinda stems down from the its not really a 'competition'...so hydro is going to be killer when compared to soil we all know it but i like the fact its light hearted and there's not too many rules or regulations or different divisions...also i think when voting comes into play people will take the differences in setups into account...i know if i see a soil plant get a half oz i will be giving them my vote over a 1-2 ounc hydro setup!
I understand. But a hydro is going to pi*s all over a soil plant when it comes to looks & beauty & i know others may be thinking "why don't I do hydro".. But I'm speaking for those who don't do hydro, I'll just leave it at that, thanks for understanding.

Lets chill folks. Im going to win with a hybrid soil top hempy cup anyway. So lets just not worry.

But really. No one is forcing anyone in or out. Its a fun battle with a rule set that makes it fun and open to pretty much everyone. Lets keep the positive vibes going.

All rules were openly discussed and agreed upon by the majority. So there is absolutely nothing unfair. And was made in all good fun.

Its pretty off putting when the vibes go sour. Lets stick to what makes afn great and all learn from each other.
