Sooo. i am pondering ideas on where i should fix this issue. The smell is definitely coming from the exhaust so i am thinking the carbon filter is wore out ( i bought it off craigslist) or it is just not up to the standards of the fan. So in the mean time i ordered some Ona for them "just in case" times. I am going to order a new filter but i dont want to order one that is totally garbage. It looks as if my fan and filter combo have no markings. The filter has zero markings, its dimensions are 10x7. My fan does not have no brand names but it has some specs of the fan. Fan Reads:
Outer Rotor Inline Fan
Model 4 inch Fans
Voltage 120V/60Hz
Air Volume 190CFM
Static Pressure 2.01"/w
Ampere 0.75A
Input Power 100W
Revolution 3,100 RPM
Date 10/2009
Made in China
So just typing that got me thinking the lady whom sold me the unit said it was used for a couple months. But by reading the date the is certainly a chance that the fan and filter have much more mileage than she claimed. Is there any indication that would let me know that the filter was bad other than some lingering odor or is that how you know its time for a new one. hope to hear from someone asap so i can get this thing ordered or straightened out.
