I am running my grow room in a closet the a 190cfm fan + carbon scrubber and i got a little plantlike smell. Plants are not budding yet but is there something else i can use? Glade plugins, ona.... i rubberbanded a dryer sheet over my exhaust to see if that helps for a lil bit.

Get a better filter suited to the cfm of the fan.. sounds like your current one is not up to the task

If your fan pulls air to quickly through your filter it doesn't get time to scrub it properly, does your fan size match your filter? Say a 4" filter with a 4" fan? That's what i use and I have no smell,I do have my fan on the slowest setting though:toke:

i like th big blue ionizers... thats what i use... and no air restriction like carbon filters... my 4" will handle up to 465 CFMN of airflow.... comes out smelling dryer fresh!!!

you MUST exhaust ionized air outside!!!!!
(safety reasons)

oh yeah... btw... i use a 90 CFM Bathroom fan (airking) which is super wuiet.... it pushes through my hps hood and out the ducting... last thing before exit is the ioniizer...

Yeah ionizer = phosphoric acid build up in environment... acid rain effect. Don't use for small ops lol

well i cannot exhaust out of the closet so ionizer idea is out of the question. I got the scrubber with the fan, i keep mine on the lowest setting with a controller. I don't believe anything is written on the filter is there a chart or a certain size i should be looking at. I am also using the passive intakes on my tent figuring the fan would just keep everything moving in one direction.

I too run a 4" combo fan/filter for exhaust ...I pull thru the filter and duct outside ......I also duct my dry bin into the tent so all smells are handled by the filter....I feed fresh air from outside into my tent with another 4"....have to keep my exhaust a bit higher than the intake to remain neg in tent...if it gets outta balance, I def get an odor....I keep a small lamp and ring with oil most times anyway....
My filter is over a year old right now and runs full time....intake is only on with lights on....

My 4 inch is on the roof of the tent and the passives are on the sides at the bottom. Maybe I should buy a larger filter.
