So since I am being strict about checking pH, I have decided to hold off on the Drip feed for now with the MC nutes. I will be hand watering until further notice. I have to be honest, I had a weird feeling starting the Drip Stake grow with MC. I had a hunch that the pH was going to fluctuate on me and I was right. I am unhappy with the pH rise in my Rez. The pH was 6.55 when I checked it today. That means it rose about .3-.4 in one day. Not sure why it is rising so quickly, but I'm not playing the pH game.
For anyone using MC in a rez, I would advise you to check your pH often. I am not sure if it is the new formula of Cal-Mag or Sweet Candy, they are both different than the other batches I have bought. Or my pump/under water fan. My plants that are on Drip Stakes are lighter in Color and I think I see very early/minor signs of pH fluctuations. My hand watered plants are darker in Color, and my guess is from the pH drifting upwards my Drip Stake plants are lighter in color. Nothing bad looking, but when I know the pH is moving upwards too quickly, I can't have that on my mind. I will be home daily, so handwatering is no big deal. I wanted to be Automated again...but not going to force it. Until I know I can have stable pH with MC, not going to subject my plants to fluctuations. I am going to go make some water and add it to my Rez. I will not put any pH up in it, to bring the pH down to a better level. I want it to be at 6.1 tonight. I will NOT turn my pump on, just let it circulate overnight. I will test it again and see what's up tomorrow morning. Peace slowandeasy
