Equipment:

1000W digital / 4x4x7.
MH blue through Veg., then HPS yellow through flowering. 600W until Veg.
DARK corner of basement (actually located on the dark side of the Moon)
RO w/reservoir and aerator
Ocean Forest Soil / Coco (70/30)
General Hydroponics Flora Series & Kool Bloom
(no nutes until veg starts; then progress from 1/8)
CalMag / Ph Up / Ph Down
Germination/Nursery Station
with T5 24 Watt 6500 deg. Blue. Plastic trey with dome. Kept here until first leaves appear, then to tent.

03/15/15
  • Six Shooter #1 was injured during transplant from trey to pot/tent. Tap root fell off. (It was my wife's fault).....)
  • Ph on all pots/soil 6.3-6.5
  • 03/14/16: I have turned up the ballast to 1000 Watts (seedlings). Heavy influence from photoperiod friends.
  • 03/15/16: Added 2x 40W CFLs.
03/24/16
  • Added gnomes.
04/02/16
  • Changed bulb to HPS.

04/02/16
  • Six Shooter #2 continues to dominate the tent.
04/03/16
  • FastBuds Sixshooter #1 (Lost tap root at initial transfer to pot) (Had 1-quart of soil dumped on from 4' up at early veg) (Had minor lamp stress at early veg.; tallest plant).
  • FastBuds Sixshooter #2 (Had minor lamp stress at early veg.; tallest plant).
  • Purchased LUX meter and temperature gun.
04/13/16
Went to mid-bloom with nutrients.

04/17/16
  • Added 2x 6" fans to base of tent. (despite research, I listened to a friend that told me I did not need these)
  • Added intake exhaust fan. (despite research, I listened to a friend that told me I did not need these)
  • Have readings stable at 80F - 49%.
  • Both Six Shooters are in flower mode.
04/18/16
  • Flushed both the gals.
  • Figured out my heat issues are not so much circulation. Like an idiot, I had my hood exhaust duct hopped down from 6" to 4" coming out of the hood. Never do this. This held up flow over the bulb and was causing excessive ambient heat under the bulb; hence the heat stress issues I was having.
04/21/16
  • Aggressive defoliation.
04/23/16
  • Switched to late-bloom nutrients.
To be continued......

SECOND HALF: I hope you enjoyed your intermission smoke break..........I did........:jointman:

04/23/16

  • Switched to late-bloom nutrients.
  • Neither gal reacted well to "third feeding no nutes." This could be because I am using RO water and had no trace minerals at all? Maybe 2.5ml of cal-mag next time???
  • Starting to panic about when to take off nutrients???
04/25/16
  • Started germination of @FastBuds Green Crack, for what it's worth.
04/30/16
  • Serious problems with temperature and humidity in basement changing dramatically over night. Primarily in the new veg tent, which did not harm the Six Shooters in the flower tent; just made the gals a little RH stressed. Spring is here and fucking with my environment. Spring hits the same time on my area of the moon as the rest of you.
05/02/16
  • Picture day for the big girls.
  • BTW; I am running RO with Cal-Mag on 30% coco. Because of this I am not monitoring the soil ph. This is highly debated. Yes I am taking the easy route until I see deficiencies or surplus on the leaf chart.
05/04/16

  • Both gals are showing early signs of home stretch. Six Shooter #1 is sporting a double barrel!!!!
  • Now I am really stressing about when to pull all nutrients?????
05/05/16
  • Fox tails started to appear all over. Being new I have no idea who, what, when, where or why?................:spels:
  • I later learned flowers finishing and/or filling in can be mistaken for fox tails. I also dug around and found there are good fox tails and bad fox tails. I found some desire fox tails, some do not. I found it can be genetic (Sativa), prompted by nutrients, or it can be initiated by heat stress. Most commonly a combination of genetics with either of the heat or nute issues. It appears the "bad" fox tails are from straight nutrient or heat stress issues.
  • Any feedback on fox tails is appreciated.
05/07/16
  • Nutrient flush for the gals. I put 2.5 ml of Cal-Mag in this time and they seemed a lot happier than their last flush................
05/08/16
  • Started gals on ripen nutes

  • Flushed each plant three time with straight water.
  • 10 ml of GH floraKleen with final gallon of water.
  • No more nutes for the gals.

05/15/16

  • Harvested Six Shooter #2. Tough decision. Fox Tails on top appear too early. Could not compromise the rest of the plant for the fox tails; trichomes were hitting 60/40 cloudy everywhere but on top of fox tails.
05/16/16
  • Harvested Six Shooter #1. Same decision with trichomes issue.
05/18/16
  • Cut, weighed and canned Six Shooter #2
  • Six Shooter #2 Final dry weight: 209 Grams / 7.5 Ounces!!!!!

LAST FINAL CHAPTER!!!!

05/19/16

  • I do not know what happened. Over night Six Shooter #1 became completely dry, too dry......:crying:....I am hoping this is corrected in the curing process if I let them set longer. I am using RH packs in the jars.
  • Cut weighed and canned Six Shooter #1.
  • Total dry weight: 182 GRAMS / 6.5 OUNCES!!!! With fear of being an Al Gore, I am going to re-weigh this after extended curing. This plant somehow went to needing 2-3 more days of drying to almost crisp over night.
Final smoke report will be done with cured flowers.

I WILL NEVER PLACE JOURNAL IN WRONG PLACE AGAIN!!!!...............:wall:

Top stuff mate, big old pat on the back for ya. Sit back wait and enjoy (after a good cure obviously)

Trust me, I have not waited................:smokeit:.....................:naughtystep:

Actually after jarring up I had enough left overs for a small bag.......:jointman:

At this point initial flavor is not real strong, but very smooth. Consistent with her profile page, definite pepper after taste. No delay on the fun, hits the head right away, long lasting. She has quickly become my go to smoke for strength. I cannot wait until she is cured.
