Site Work in Progress - 2018

Here is a rough outline of some of the site changes recently (up to 2/23/18.)

Under the vendor/product testing section:

Created new Forum Category: [Grow Room Components] in Product Testing section to be used as a parent category for new grow room component related companies.

Moved Independent Breeders up one level to main forum index for better exposure (last move, I promise lol.) Now offering potential free forum space to indie/small time breeders (application required.)

Renamed Autoflower Breeders to Autoflower Breeders (Commercial.)
Renamed Independent Breeders to Autoflower Breeders (Independent)

Renamed a few of the testing forums to be a bit more generic.

Art of the Autoflower Section Changes:

Renamed "Art of the Autoflower" to "Autoflower Cultivation Discussion."

Merged New Growers Discussion into New Growers Journals.
Merged Indoor Growers Discussion into Indoor Grow Journals.
Merged Outdoor Growers Discussion into Outdoor Grow Journals.

Created new Forum Category: [Grow Journals] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for New Growers Journals, Indoor Grow Journals, and Outdoor Grow Journals.

Moved New Growers Journal, Indoor Grow Journals, and Outdoor Grow Journals under new Grow Journals section (all journals in one section unless vendor/breeder specific.)

Created new Forum Category: [Grow Mediums] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for anything grow medium related.
Created new Forum Category: [Grow Lights] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for anything lighting related.
Created new Forum Category: [Nutrients & Additives] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for anything nutrient/additive related.
Created new Forum Category: [Processing & Extraction to be used as a catch-all and parent category for anything processing/extraction related.

Moved BHO and Hash Oil & Edibles as subforums of Processing and Extraction.

Created new Forum Category: [DIY Projects & Solutions] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for DIY projects.

Moved DIY LED Building as subforum of DIY Projects & Solutions

Created new Forum Category: [Irrigation and Water] to be used as a catch-all and parent category for DIY projects.

Moved Hydroponics Discussion and Autopot Growing forums as subforums of Irrigation and Water.

Photoperiod Section:

Renamed Art of the Photoperiod to Photoperiod Cultivation Discussion.

General Changes:

Complete overhaul of main forum index site icons.

I'll update the 1st post of this thread to reflect the new changes/additions as well.

CannaZone Performance Testing & Grow Battles Changes:

Moved Autoflower Photography 101 to the Autoflower Cultivation Discussion section.
Renamed Autoflower Photography 101 to Autoflower Photography.

Photoperiod Cultivation Discussion Changes:
Moved Photosensitive Grow Journals to the Grow Journals Section.
Moved Photosensitive Breeding forum to and as a subforum of Autoflowering Breeding in the Autoflower Cultivation Discussion section.
Moved Photosensitive Photography to and as a subforum of Autoflower Photography in the Autoflower Cultivation Discussion section.
Deleted the now empty Photoperiod Cultivation Discussion section.

Product & Strain Review Changes:
Moved 13 discussions (all of them) from Electronic Meter (pH, ppm, etc) Reviews to the catch-all Grow Room Component Reviews.
Moved 334 discussions (all of them) from Grow Equipment Reviews to the catch-all Grow Room Component Reviews.
Retooled all of the subforum icons in this section.

At some point, we'll go through and sort through the catch-all and move anything that's more appropriate to where it needs to go.

The Showcase Review system is getting a massive, titan-like overhaul in the very, very near future.

Created the first draft for the official AFN E-mail Newsletter.

Newsletter will be a weekly publication with highlights on:

Featured Article/Topic (showcase topic for the newsletter)
Popular/Trending Threads on the Forum (a list of hot, trending, or "don't miss" threads from the past week.)
Growing Tips (each week we'll grab a popular/trending tip article on growing!)
Grow Journals (each week we'll pick out one grower/grow journal to spotlight on the newsletter!)
Grow Battles (updates on what's happening, what's starting next etc.)
Product Testing (existing and upcoming vendor showcase, letting you know what's happening, what's coming etc.
Product Reviews (check out the latest review from our Showcase!)

We're going to do an overhaul on our wordpress page as well and have started working on content syndication with some of our vendors and other publications, so the newsletter will be tying into articles as well!

There will also be opt-out information at the bottom of the first e-mail going out, so if it's not your thing, opt-out!
