Lighting Simulating .... Moonlight !! Anyone ever tried it ? (75w bulbs!)

I just bought a 10% uvb bulb and was gonna run it 1 hour slowly up to six hours a day from 20" away. I guess I better do some more looking at uvb. I know some led's have uvb now. Any thoughts?

hi,
Not more than 10 minutes a day 9especially if you go 10%0, your MH has UVB and more if you remove the glass

A lot I've read says build it up to several hours during late veg. Still researching

californial lightworks solarstorm has 2 t5 10% uvb bulbs for flowering. running full time

I have thought about the moonlight spectrum and using it for my grows but being the logical person that I am I can't get past the fact that the moon has phases which would produce different degrees of light. New moon, quarter moon, half moon, and full. So to be exact you would want several lights on seprate timers simulating each phase..but yeah I think if you do it the correct way it could be very benneficial

You guys are talking about interrupting the dark period of a cannabis plant with the intention of having a positive effect on yield or plant health... I think this has been thoroughly disproven in controlled indoor settings. True, outdoor plants must contend with reflected sunlight off the lunar surface and as of late, light pollution from neighboring cities. But while they have evolved to grow under natural photoperiods, I have to imagine beneficial levels of light during the dark period are small or nonexistant. By that I mean total darkness is more beneficial than an interruption. Or so I believe. Feel free to contradict me, I am by no means infallible.

Ya know, this is actually a very interesting subject. Most people say that even a little light will stunt your plants when they are sleeping.. I always wondered about this since the moon isn't exactly dark.. In fact, I would swear it's like 7000k. But then there is a thing of stress free sleep that I can understand. I don't know...

Small amounts of uvb are thought to induce a stress reaction in the plant to grow more uv blocking trichomes, thereby increasing resin production, but that's outside the scope of this thread. Cali light works includes supplemental uvb t8 lights to this effect... once again though a might bit off topic.

If it weren't for inspiring tangents this world would have zero good ideas. (question everything!) Just do it properly :p
