Should I start over?

Ok I popped 1 Sour Stomper, 1 CDLC, 1 Barney's Farm GG4 auto, 1 Nightowl Blue Sprayed Shoes Remix. I will be starting a new thread and this will be my final post on this thread. This thread has taught me so much. Happy Growing :thanks:

Plants took a turn for the worse. I wasn't adding the Silica and nutrients correctly causing lockout. I did a flush.
But I am still confused about how to mix nutrients correctly.

I start with ro water at a ph of 7.2
First I add Protekt Silica that puts ph at 10.04 then I ph down to 6.5 then add Dynagrow Grow but that drops my ph down to 4.8. And this is where I get lost. What should I do next? I should not add Ph up to a mix that already has ph down? So how do I get the ph up? I tried to add more water but throes off my ppm. What am I doing wrong please help.
Mix your water and nutrients first before adjusting p.h.... dude ?

I definitely agree with @Markopo here. Ph'ing your water before you add nutrients will cause you to put more ph'ing solutions than needed.

Uncontaminated water should be a ph of 7.0 at room temp or 70°f. Plain waters ph will fluctuate with temp, at 80° the ph will be 7.1-7.5 and the colder the more acidic it will read.

Ro water will have a small amount of dissolved solids in it which will cause it to read a little more alkaline sometimes. But nutes are all acidic by nature. My distilled water goes from 7.0 to 5.1 after mixing. So if you ph your water before hand you're actually severely lowering it when nutes are added. Probably testing around 4.1-4.5 after. Idk what you use as as ph up solution but mine is potassium hydroxide. Im not sure but I believe plants can uptake it as a form of potassium.

Haha that's an old formula. I don't do it like that anymore. I simply add Protekt wait 30 minutes then add Dynagro Grow/Bloom , then add CalMag. No ph buggers needed.

when using silica follow the instructions on the bottle. it does have to be mixed first and most brands want it to sit a while to completely disolve before adding the other nutrients..
Yes Sir. Your correct.

This is not necessarily true. You can add your ph up first or after silica. And not have to use it after the nutrients. It does the same thing. You never want to add Ph up after nutrients it can cause precipitate. Adding it before the nutrients takes the precipitate/cloudiness out of the equation..
It took me a few weeks to understand this but I smoke a shit ton of bud and rosin :baked:
