Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

Amazing buds. The sour crack you have is about average. Not very big... but for me she's done in 60 days max every time. Sour crack will be a good smoke for you

Hey @MissUniverse, do you wait for any amber at 60 days, or just take it at day 60? And have you seen it make a difference with how the effect is? I am at day 61 today, and I just scoped her, and there are virtually no amber heads to be found. I usually wait until about 5% to 20% (at the most!!!) heads appear to amber up. I see that Mephisto calls for 55-65 days, and if it isn't done tomorrow, it may have to wait until Tuesday which would be day 67. On the other hand, she is 90% indica, so as long as she is mostly milky heads, she should be done and be good indica smoke. First one of these, so I am a bit befuddled which way to go, but honestly leaning towards letting her go until Tuesday (day 67) since she was a late starter as a seedling.

Excellent looking ladies. @Seymourbud . Can't wait for your smoke report on the purple nuggets lol.

@hope2grow , thanks, she really is a looker. Bag appeal is a solid 10!

@Sleazyb , can't wait for the cure to get done so I can taste and try doing a smoke report. I have the "bag appeal" portion of the report done, see above!

Good Morning, well day 62 for the Sour Crack's became their chop day. I decided to take a longer look through the scope to assess their readiness, or ability to last another 6-8 days as my schedule is very full over the next week. My decision was to chop because I believe in the next 6 days they would be past their prime as my extended viewing through the scope revealed she was at 5-10% amber trichomes. I believe this might have happened in the last day as I looked yesterday and found very few, but I did not look through the whole plant. So, with that in mind, I decided to chop today rather then risk her being overly ripe.

She was a joy to trim! I spent no more then an hour, and that may be stretching it. I had a dominant cola that weighed in at 62 grams, and the rest of the plant weighed in at ~110 grams, for a wet total of 172 grams, or an estimate of 43 grams dry. The buds were rock hard, and were somewhat fruity with a skunky backend. I trimmed outside, but her aroma hung in the air since there is so much humidity and heat with little to no breeze. There was no larf or popcorn buds, and this might be the first time that has ever occurred on a plant I have grown. I opened her pretty good and apparently every site got enough light to produce rockhard nuggets. From the standpoint of ease of growth, and days to finish, she will definitely be run again(and again, and again, and...). Picture to follow later today.

My Menage a Tyrone x Double Grape is bending from the weight of the buds in at least several branches. I have had to "duct tape" her or prop the branches up against the cabinet walls in order for her make it another several days. She is really LOUD, and is giving my carbon filter/ fan a real run for the money. Just need to make it through the weekend. I have a feeling I may have to take it at different times over the next 6 days as I won't have the time to do an entire plant, but I am afraid that some of the bent stems will lead to the buds not getting water/nourishment. Time will tell.

I also have the pleasure of announcing we have a new baby girl who just sprouted up yesterday above the soil. A Grape Walker Kush by Mephisto is now in a Root Riot cube ( 2nd time using these and I got to say I wish I had used them way before I did!!), and that cube has been moved to a double solo cup with soil for ~10 days before she will be moved to her final 3 gallon airpot.

I am going to make a final decision today about the third seed I will germinate, and it will be between a Blue Toof Special and a 3 Bears OG. As of this writing I am leaning towards the BTS.

Have a great day!

Good choice to chop the sour crack. I thought my AvT could use another day so it went like two without checking and damn if she didn’t amber faster then any plant I’ve seen. Unless my first time checking I didnt check enough. But I usually try to check the more mature buds so this doesn’t happen. I need good night meds so no big deal on the extra amber.

Menage a Tyrone x Double Grape - Day 75 - This girl has really gotten her lean on. The buds on her branches are so heavy that she can no longer hold them up, and the weight of the buds is bending the branches. I have her tied up and leaning against the cabinet walls until her chop day comes, probably next Tuesday or Wednesday, day 79 or 80. She has no amber to speak of yet, but she is really giving my carbon filter a workout. She is really Loud!
