Indoor Seed Stockers Blackberry Gum and Amnesia Auto Grow

Watering wise, both plants are drinking 2 qts every four days. That doesn’t seem too bad for 3 gallons of soil.

Unfortunately I don’t. It’s one of the things I don’t keep track of.
Yes I avoided it out of laziness and the belief that in soil it wasn’t necessary and continued to run into problems every grow and nearly gave up.Then joined AFN for some help and that was my problem simple pH control!
On that note rep slap goes to @Ash-a-Ton who helped me out good luck and all the best
I am on board for the journey

As I have learned there is no point loading nutes on a plant that shows deficiencies until you know that the root zone is in a condition to uptake the insufficient nute specifically.I am no expert but have found pH and environment and the plant seems to look after itself
I hope this helps as I know the frustration involved peace and love

2 quarts is 1.9 liters . -- every 4 days -- Your soil is the problem , Holding on to the water to long which effects your root development , which in turn slows the uptake of nutrients . then if a problem occurs it takes longer to adjust your feed because 1 problem leads into another . I don't know anything about your soil as we do not get those type of soils here in Australia and I make my own . I would try letting it dry out a bit more than you do to let the roots breathe a bit . What lead me to think the soil is the problem is due to the size of the plants . The plants in the photo I never checked the soil ph apart for before I planted the seeds .

The soil itself is the problem? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen other users in here use the Promix organic soil before, so I wonder why I’m running into these issues...

I’m just spitballing now, but maybe what my problem has been is watering too fast. I was pouring the water in, and noticing that I’d get some run off from the bottom of the pot with 2 qts per watering. But maybe what I’ve been seeing is water that’s running between the pot and the soil rather than excess water due to saturated soil.

If that’s the case, then lesson learned and I’ll be more careful on my next grow. For now, these plants will result in some good, smokeable bud, just not as much as if I’d watered properly, I guess.

Well, I watered nice and slowly tonight and the pot became fully saturated after around 3.5 quarts of water, so I was definitely watering too fast before.

I’m sure the buds will be ok, it’s just I probably could have had more if I’d been watering correctly the whole time. Oh well.

An aside, if I note sugar leaves that are showing signs of deficiency (brown spots), is it best to remove them now or just trim them come harvest time?

dry soil cant really hold much water.it runs through cracks and between soil and pot.a moist soil can retain a lot more water.so the runoff can be a false reading.it didnt run off it ran right through.
dry soil can make the ph go a bit wonky.and leaves can crisp n dry fast.i tend to leave leaves on till they drop off :smoking:im a big fan of adding lots of perlight to fluff up soil.
watering frequency, amounts, technique depending on pot size and styles, ambient temps and humidty.its all so different for each grower :coffee:
throw some @ out if ya stuck  or pop into live stoners if nobody is about https://www.autoflower.org/threads/january-2019.69160/page-1454#post-2093069 :coffee:

i consider myself no better than an average grower in the 6 ish years i been at it.cant say ive learnt much/calcium def is tiny lil rust spots, mag is a pale blotchyness, and thats about it
an oz from a 1L,70g from a 3L and 110g from a 6L pot give or take :coffee: my last few grows :smoking:
couple of grows to find your feet and youl be there or there abouts.
a baby might get water day its potted and not watered for 3 days, seedling might get 250ml every second day,a 3 week old 500ml everyday,5 week old 1L everyday,8 week old 1.5L everyday.6L pot
keep at it
