Well, I just received my new tent today and it's all setup. My DIY light was completed the other day, and will be hung tonight. The two burlap pots are filled, each with 0.5 cu.ft. of ProMix Organic. And last, but not least, my seeds were dropped into water last night.

Right now I'm just waiting on the tap roots to start to emerge, then they'll go into the soil and this grow journal can really begin.

Pics of the setup will be coming later tonight. Stay tuned.

Good luck bro and good vibes to your grow!
:vibes:

Alright, to start with, I’ll lay out the basic information for my setup:

Tent Size – 2’x4’x5’
Light Type – DIY LED light. Composed of 16 100W-equivalent off-the-shelf LED bulbs. These bulbs are 3000K, 1600 lumens each, and draw 14W actual for a total of 224W. I plan to run this light on a 20/4 schedule utilizing a smart plug timer. I also plan to start the light at about 12” from the soil.
Fan/Filter – None yet, but in a few weeks I will install a 4” fan/carbon filter combo to deal with the odor.

Strains – 1 Amnesia Auto and 1 Blackberry Gum Auto from Seed Stockers
Pot Size – 10 gallon burlap “pots”, modified by folding the edges down to accommodate 3.75 gallons of soil
Soil Type – ProMix Organic Vegetable and Herb Mix
Nutrients – MegaCrop 2.0 (utilizing their free 300g sample)

Miscellaneous – Also on the way are a small portable fan to provide air movement and a digital humidity/temperature monitor.

This is really only my second grow. My first grow was a small trash can grow with 4 CFLs. It was an Northern Lights Auto and only yielded 9g. So I’m hoping this setup will greatly improve on that yield.

That’s all for now, I’m still waiting for signs of the tap root from the two seeds. As I said above, they were placed into cups of water last night. In the meantime, please enjoy my pictures below showing the current setup.

Looks like you've got unused space; maybe add a 3rd pot/plant. With 2 x 4 tent to fill with 2 plants - the plants will need to be large, perhaps too much to expect from a 1st real grow. Consider ≥3 plants - move variety; learn more; higher yield (get more); and other benefits. Others might jam in even a lot more, such as SCROG a number of plants in smaller pots.

Good news. I awoke this morning to both seeds having cracked and the beginning of the taproot showing! So I transferred them both to wet paper towels. Both seeds should be added to the soil by tonight and then it's the waiting game until they emerge from the ground.

:yay:

Your setup looks awesome!

I understand what you're saying, and in future grows I might build another light to cover the whole footprint and add in some more plants. For now, however, I'm kicking this off with two plants, which the light will cover almost perfectly. I'm ok if they don't fill the whole tent. Really, I'm looking to get a grow going, test out the new setup, and get a decent yield.

My wife and I are not heavy smokers, or even moderate, by any means. The 9g I previously grew, albeit disappointing, lasted almost 6 months at the rate we smoke. So if I end up with an ounce per plant, I'd be happy, and I'd be set with a good supply for some time.

Just finished planting the seeds in their final homes. The Blackberry Gum is on the left and the Amnesia Haze is on the right. The soil in both the pots was “treated” with a full watering which included some H2O2. No nutes added just yet. Additionally, since it’s a pretty constant 60F in my basement, I added a seedling mat into the tent to provide some added warmth.

Question, I currently have the lights programmed to turn on tonight at 20h00, should I delay having the lights on for a few days or is having them on the 20/4 schedule ok as soon as the seed is in the soil?

:welcome: back i wonderd where ya got to :pass: 1st grow was just a practice run anyways  bit of elbow room in the tent, good to see you still trusting in the led bulbs :coffee:
most people leave the lights on the timer to get a feel for high/low temps prior to seedlings popping.the seedling wont know if the lights on till it pops up :eyebrows: ive had seedlings pop up just before lights out, they dont care aslong as they get light within 8 or so hours :smokeit:
good luck n keep er lit.
