Hello All,

I’m onto my second grow after mixed results from my first grow.

this girl is a sweet nurse cbd auto from sweet seeds who’s15 days since popping out into the world. She’s grown in coco and been using canna nutes throughout.

The problem I’ve found myself in is the leaves are very quickly turning yellow and are beginning to curl upwards...

as you can see from the photos she’s not looking too healthy, but I can’t seem to find the cause of the problem. I thought it may have been a ph problem so I flushed the coco and started again with feeding at a reduced rate because I thought maybe nitrogen toxicity...This didn’t work! Next I thought possibly a nutrient deficiency, but her sister who is doing much better in the same feed is thriving.

I’m completely stuck as I don’t want to loose her but feel at the moment she’s a lost cause.

Any ideas autofloweres?

Hey there - I'm not the infirmary specialist .. but have used coco and done a few plants in over my time

She's not a bad size for 15 days - but i can see that the pot is a bit too small for your lady.

I would guess PH issues are the culprit .. however i don't know what PH you're going to or which brand of coco you're using (assuming it's also canna) .

I would PH to 5.8 with a half dose of nutes and slowly water through a good few litres of it.

Also may be worth to Calibrate your meter to make sure 5.8 is really 5.8 :D .. is your meter reliable (not the yellow chinese one!) ?

Just a few ideas!
Good luck!

It's not N toxicity as your leaves would be darlk green and clawing down.

Thank for your reply @blue

You’re right she’s growing ok it’s just the yellowing! The pot size is only 1L as I’m actually experimenting with micro growing atm. The grow space is a cabinet that’s only 70cm high, so the pots will remain small.

There an excellent post by @Mr.Sparkle who I am loosely following.

But currently the roots have more than enough room.

I’m just using straight up canna coco with 30% perlite with a feeding ph of 5.6 - 5.8 with around 20% if not more run off

Luckily I have a half decent ‘essentials’ ph meter which has been calibrated regularly using ph buffer 7.

Hopefully with the flush I have set the medium back to starters and will carefully half dose and make sure the ph is spot on!!

Thanks again for your input!

No worries Chief!! -Understand on the micro growing, it's tougher than full size growing and takes care and discipline! I've tried it a few times!!

I'll tag a couple of people in who may have better insight than me
@St. Tom can certainly rock a cup grow (and with canna coco) .... Check out his threads, maybe inspirational!
@Vapo ... using tiny pots and getting good returns!! Worth a look at!!

Luckily I have a half decent ‘essentials’ ph meter which has been calibrated regularly using ph buffer 7.

Your meter is fine - i used one for years before I decided to free myself from the shackles of meters and technology   ... (so basically "winging it!").
Good reliable meters!!

I'm outta ideas other than it's possibly a salt build up causing PH lockout ... but if it is, you've done the right thing putting some PH'd water and feed through it!

Hello @SuperClogs can I ask if you are using calmag?.....I had the same kind of yellowing begin to happen on a BK I am currently growing and the calmag I was using just didn't seem up to scratch to me....so I went back to Plant Magic calmag and it seems to have helped....also, mabey try feeding them in-between 5.8-6.0pH for a bit, see if that helps(?)I heard they like the pH a little bit higher in the early stages.......Hope this helps and happy growing:d5:

I’ve just flushed it with 5.8 and will up the ph to 6.0 on the next feeding.

In terms of nutes I’m using Aqua Flates A/B and adding calmag and canna rhizotonic. I’m dosing that to around 500ppm but my ec meter is shit and just waiting to get a decent one. Basically following the schedules for the nutes at 1/2 dose for the time being.

the reason for Aqua flakes is its eventually going to be an automated DTW system once the girls get comfortable enough.

I’m using biobizz calmag atm because i wanted to finish the bottle up. It worked wonders in my past grow so just carried on using it.

Would a calcium problem come up so soon after sprouting?

I don't think it would calmag this early also if you can get a good ec meter it will help so much as I'd like to know what your run off is saying as any problem s that's your best tools to fix it
