Scrog net . Size and when to place

Big heavy buds often require a support system of some sort and a net can fill the bill. Just do not call it a SCROG as that will confuse new growers.

Interesting, thanks for that, not heard that before, why does it happen?

I’ve only done it with photos. I don’t SCROG until the plants go into the flower room then I tuck them back under the net as they stretch. It’s worked every time for me. I can’t see why this wouldn’t work with autos

Curious on this too. I've never scrogged with autos, but I'm going to try it on my upcoming photo run. I'm having trouble deciding on 2", 2.5" or 3" hole sizes. Anyone have any comments on this?

hi bud, you want to try and aim for one bud site per square, and not to let colas grow too close to each other , it’s a personal preference but it seems most go with 2.5 and 3 inch.

Smaller holes are better on my experience as it gives more opportunity to tuck down the branches thus getting an even canopy

Not even sure if I will put my nets up anymore, completely unsure about what to do with them, they both been topped, both very flat and wide and not much height, that’s just how I like them to start so that’s fine, but never topped before either, how do these plants grow if topped once and then left until chop???

I've topped a couple of times and I won't bother doing it again, the topped compared to the untopped was always less. Not saying that it won't work for others. It's best to try everything yourself. What I can say is the scrog is definitely worth putting in. Just bend the branches under, easy peasy. Don't top just keep bending the main stem. It's basically a really good lst. I would still call it a scrog since there's more than one way to skin a cat. Call it an ASCROG auto screen of green. No topping just filling the space

I just call it “netting”. I top and train until they’re tall enough, and then put the nets in to make further training easier. So, not always a tru scrog. Last grow in my 8x4 I did a 2 layer scrog and had a 15 oz trim and dried auto GSC.

if you have a 4x2 which is what I grow autos in during summer, there’s a store on eBay that sells true 4x2 bungee nets. Yellow Sky is the brand.

Gorilla grow lite line high cfm kits will fit most tent poles and work great as a scrog frame. Pretty cheap too. Especially if you google around and find the free shipping coupon that’s out there. Their regular sized high cfm kits obviously fit gorilla poles, and should fit AC tent poles too. Might double check on the AC part though.

Curious to know what your entire yield was in the 8x4? That's a big yield for a single auto wow. Also when do you usually top
