Just kidding girls and boys. I know some people have one or two and love them and if money was not an issue I'd have one too.

They are really expensive for what you get IMO and I always felt someone was taking advantage of stoners and gouging prices. It's $300 for one in Canada. But I decided I was going to get one because I spend a lot of effort and money to make rosin for edibles and I don't want to mess up the effect of decarb'd rosin because my temps were off on a decarb. I have too much invested already.

But then along comes this thing I read about using a sous vide to decarb. Precision temp and time control device used for cooking, which I always wanted to try myself for steaks etc but couldn't justify the price. Now the prices are a lot lower. And products seem to be better and with more options - good product evolution (which you won't see with the limited use small market Ardent Lift). You can get in to a sous vide for much less than than the Ardent. And you can probably get better warranty etc since you are buying more of a household brand. And you can cook with it!

I'm looking at this now instead of the Ardent Lift.

@lunarman good find, I think someone was going to try this a couple years ago, but I don't think they ever did.
I'm sure you'll let us know if you get one!

using a sous vide to decarb. And you can cook with it! I'm looking at this now instead of the Ardent Lift.

I read about using sous vide to decarb, some time ago and since I have been hoping Santa will have a generous year.
Then when the lift came out, like you, I balked at the price. Good idea, but way over-valued, especially when turkey-bags are so cheep ;-)

The sous vide videos I have seen, use vacuum-seal bags. I don't know how high you can push them- I used one at the lowest setting of my slow cooker when making oil and it fell apart. Fortunately it was only trim. Back to turkey bags after that.

There must be some sort of cheap affordable ziplock bag you can use. I think my days with flower and trim are done. Rosin only now. But still need to decarb rosin for making edibles. I'm just going to put my rosin in a silicon dabbing container and then put that in a small foodsaver vacuum bag and seal it up and then toss it in the sous vide hot water bath. The quality of the foodsaver rolls of plastic bag seem pretty good to me. I can't see it leaking or failing. But you got me thinking I'll do a test run first with no rosin and make sure there aren't leaks or ruptures etc.

That's right root. I'm going to get the Anova bluetooth sous vide. $130 Cdn. Less than half the price of the Ardent. I'll post something after I use it.

I reckon you could submerge a Mason Jar with your product inside.

Bud, was the 300 with shipping? My lift comes tomorrow. I used the code canna30 got $30 off. It is $210 usd minus 30 comes to 180. Just used Google to convert that's $239.55 cad. I got free shipping (slow) not sure if they ship to you for free or not. Justed looked it says free shipping but $25 for faster shipping so looks like it would be $240 not $300. Does that make any difference? To have worry free 1 push of a button I don't think 300 is a rip off, oh yeah no smell too! Some may be willing to pay more for that, but 180 for U.S. isn't bad at all and I'm cheap lol.
