Righty right boys and girls, some may heard about this lights some may not. One way or another there is almost no grow review on the whole world wide web for these so this should be a pleasure to all you who seek for knowledge and comparisons when it comes to the best LEDs on the market. Nothing less was admired and i was willing to spend every cent i could, what i did!

A little Introduction:

I got hot on LED's ever since i saw Tangs review on the HS1 few years ago, less heat, less watts but more PAR lights sounded like a girls orgasm to my ears. When i finally managed to get some money together to take this step the HS1 was out of production. I researched and researched, waited some months for the new GN lights to release (still not available at the moment), almost grew some grey hair and finally made the decision to get 3x Sanlgiht S4W -each 140 W with a maximum draw around 143-145W at the wall- instead to fill my 1,2mx1,2m tent (roughly 4x4).

Downloadable specifications are found here: http://sanlight.info/EN/SANlight/

With a price around 500 bucks per unit its a little rough on the wallet but the quality and customer service is good and i decided to go for it.

The following Posts will document the still on going process of my first grow with those S4W from start to finish no other lightsource, not like some other reviews where you can see a whole bunch of lights hanging around and you don't really know what to think of this situation.

My grow medium is soil in 6,5l square pots with clay pebbles at the bottom. This is an all organic grow and i dont PH the water. Details to what is used as fetilizer will follow.

Here is a shot of the light emmiting side i just pulled from the net to give you a first impression:

Passive cooling through the full aluminum body allows noiseless operation of the OSRAM top bin diodes.

The MeanWell driver is easily clipped to the lights cord and sits outside the tent so you don't waste space where you may need it. Easy to set up and ready to go without any big moves you can hand these lights within a few minutes - plug and play. I had no trouble doing that.

I'll just select some pictures and see that i get it straight with the info from the beginning so there will be an update really soon, as i already promised this review months ago.

I want to personally invite @derek420colorado who has introduced me to this forum in a way i felt home right from the start, @TaNg since hes my personal led pioneer and @BigSm0 whos an excellent cob specialist and last but not least my brother in organic arms research @Dr. Babnik
Off course i am happy for everyone who stops by and i am open for you questions as long as they stay on topic and i am abled to answer.

Enjoy.

Thank you for the invite. I won't get all techy here but I will say I am happy to see quality parts. It's easy and attractive to use a cheaper driver but they didn't. That added some money to the overall cost but at a 10% light output increase vs the cheap overseas versions they went with my first choice. The leds are above average, not epistars thank god. Again added to the cost but a 10-20% light increase over the standard thumbs down brands in most lights available today. This is good, you'll be pleased with the results, I hope. Front row seat... no pressure:toke:

Part 1 The first S4W light is installed and set on 24h ON, seedlings get popped and rooted.

Started the seeds by leaving them soak in wet paper on a boar surrounded by foil on 6th of february -10xOrangeBud (DutchPassion) 6xWhiteWhitow (Seedsman freebies)
transplanted them on the 8th to coco tabs and at the 9th there was 6xOB and 4xWW visible. Since i used this lights (led in general) for the first time and they seemed pretty strong i hung them a bit high - in retrospective i would leave them a little lower but also leave the greenhouse roof since the condensated water sat down at the leave tips and burned them slightly as you will see.
On the 14th i decided to pop some other beans (3xLemonDieselX and 3xWappaX -X standing for crossed) to fill up to 16 plants total since only 9x OB and 4xWW came to life.
On the 17th of ferbuary the OBs and WWs was rooted through the coco tabs.

On the 19th i transplanted the OBs and WWs into the soil, added a second light and switched the scedule to 18/6. Now giving them each a feeding of 250ml un PH'd tapwater with Hesi SuperVit and my bullet proof stinging nettle manure (10:1)

On the 22nd they had their 3rd and 4th pair of leaves and i turned the air system on since they now needed steady exchange of air. Fed them again 250ml each, same mix as before.

the light differences must have been some camera issues, never mind.

one of the gap filling gang - let me tell you, they catched up real quick! i guess next time i will start with more lights, hangin lower, it seems to be the way to go.

Thats it for Part 1, to be continued real soon, trying to get some views so you dont have to watch the whole progress until now at once!

Part 2

Watered again at the 24th with 500ml again with light manure feeding as before {soil is canna terra+ and each 6,5l pot was given 1l terra preta with biological activated coal, 250ml guano/rock-powder mix, 1 big spoon myko, 1 big spoon dolomite. upper layer less hot}
I let the soil dry out as much as possible without the plants getting weak so it has always a good dry/wet changing. As you see the leaves a little hanging, this is when they just got watered.

The WappaX i started later already catched up a good bit!

Top-view, pretty good sight to how the passive cooling works with even little air openings between the emitiing clusters

the flic above, taken on the 1st of march when i watered again. This is a very low water consumption rate. You can easily leave 4-7 days max without a proper problem. With the hps i had to water every day!!! Thats a huge difference. the earth mix sure has some to do with it but the major benefits is cause this light is efficient but not really hot. Temps stayed almost perfect.
