SANlight SANlight Q6W test grow

OH my tom she's a hairy one, you could almost call it, shaggy in nature!

Having looked at the genetic map on seed finder, I would hazard a guess that this anomaly comes from the "Mexican airline" part of the cross.

Mexican airlines contains Colombian sativa, which is an equatorial sativa.

Equatorial sativas are found at the equator obviously (lol) The equatorial sativas have to deal with two major conditions 12/12 light all year long and high humidity as in "equatorial rain forests" where it rains like clock work every day.

So when equatorial sativas grow they enter sex once they mature (3-4 weeks) and have a long flowering period, as the buds form them ripen at different rates giving the plant the best chance of fertilization.

So one bud can be totally finished whilst another is just getting going.

Then there is the ruderalis part of the mix which enters flower at maturity ( again 3-4 weeks) just like the equatorial sativa does but for an entirely different reason

The ruderalis has lost photoperiodism and flowers all in one go, with all the buds maturing at the same time, due to it having evolved in a place where summer is over in a flash, thus forcing to "get her done" asap and sod photoperiod, not got time.

Modern hybrids have such complicated genetic mixes that any constants of traits that occur in strains of different latitudes, then collide creating anomalies.

When tundra meets equator if you will.

It seems the buds are ripening a like an equatorial sativa and ruderalis combined, there are cloudy trichs but there is also new growth and it has the auto traits as well, so it flowers regardless of photoperiod but grows like it is a plant that deals with 12/12 it's whole life.

Equatorial sativas enjoy an almost constant growing season ie all year long, which is why some can take 22 weeks to finish flowering, ulike the ruderalis it enjoys an almost unlimited time to finish.

I think when you raised the humidity, it favoured the climatic conditions of its colombian ancestry, add to that the Mammoth P and you created the perfect storm for her to go nuts.

I would hazard a guess that any sativa in the mix could lead to longer flowering but the mexican and hawaiian sativas, are too far north of the equator for my liking, to give the constant production of new growth, which is more akin to equatorial strains.

Saying all that, this is all just a hypothesis and there could be any number of factors creating this constant flowering and just like cosmic alignments, all the right conditions happened to line up all at once.

The foxtailling is also a sativa trait, probably to allow air around the flowers, which in a humid/hot climate, need to dry or otherwise it might rot/mold, this is especially likely as it rains daily at the equator, cannabis is air/wind pollinated so this makes sense to me.

A lot of growers aren't fans of foxtailing because it make manicuring a chore, having to snip carefully around the foxtails adding time to an already arduous job.

Personally I think that with all the fat buds you have, I wouldn't worry about that and if it makes the job easier/quicker, just snip them of and use for concentrates, the buds will still look amazing!

That's my two cents on it, for what it is worth and wonder, if anyone concurs with my thoughts on this?

Will we definitely get to the bottom of this?

Probably not but it is a great way to get a discussion going and I have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts on the matter, lots of great ideas!

Waira knows his onions and I especially liked his opinions.

One way or another Tom you have once again grown a beautiful plant of which you can be mightily proud, well done mate!

I'm just getting used to the new way of things round here, I was just about to rep the shit out of that plant but there aint no rep anymore!

So just be very proud of you growing skills because you deserve it!

Amazing job, I will look forward to more great grows from you!

thanks so much, I thought waira hit the nail on the head and trichome farmer stopped me from freaking out but this is what I love about you and waira your both worth your weight in gold especially to someone like me who haven't got anyone on the ground here to help I prefer my privacy and liberty:pass: also as i said shes down now and what a harvest i got off her over 7 zips not counting loads of bottom shite also about the mammoth p I have a litre of it so I wanted to carry on using it on my new girls but got a little freaked out so I'm going to start with the 3 sssc auto creepers I've got going starting next feed as they're close to 4 weeks old now and thanks for your input and if you ever see me making any mistakes please correct me ya know as I do drop clangers here and there and 4 years of growing autos I'm still learning as I go :pass::cheers: and I'm buzzing your back pal

Tom my brother :bighug:

If you are dropping clangers you are doing it with style and grace.

I love your grows and I think you are putting too far too much expectation on yourself.

Your grows rock, no doubt about it my friend, you grow some awesome plants!

There are people out there who would love to get the results you do!

7 zips from a plant how can you not be proud about that??

We all make mistakes and we learn from them, as long as we have some smoke to keep us going, no worries eh?

AFN is all about lending a hand and helping each other, if I can help or even just lend an ear, ask away, you know I got your back!

Waira is a top lad and is a top bod deficiency wise and he also has a lot of knowledge tucked away all things cannabis, great to see him dropping by!

I guess i am behind the times with the SSSC, I knew they were back after many years of absence.

I did not realise they had made some autos, so many seed companies these days, it hard to keep up sometimes.

Auto creeper is a sativa strain but I don't know which sativa was used?

Checking on seed finder and looking at Creeper photoperiod, it is an unknown sativa.

How about a side by side with Mammoth P do one with mammoth p and 2 without?

Would be good if you have 2 similar phenos for a more accurate comparison and see what the results are.

Flowering time is 11 weeks, seed to harvest but we all know strains can go longer and often do.

There is also williams wonder (indica) in the mix too but the genetic map is not on seed finder yet.

Not over a meter tall is nice.

I love the seed packaging!!

What a great souvenir!

I will be along for the ride, will they be in this journal or will you start a new one for them?

If it is a new one tag me in, if not I will continue to follow this thread regardless.

:yeahthat: :jointman: RT-Z in da House! :smokeout: ..thanks for the kinds words mate... You hit something I forgot to add in as a potential factor, her Sativa/landrace genes acting up! With all the mixing of genetics, and the possible other influencing factors it's impossible to say what (or combo of) kicked this off. In any case, don't blame the MP or worry about it's use! They recommend using it start to finish, and why not, P has many roles in the plant especially as an cellular energy carrier; ATP, it's those phosphate to phosphate bonds that are broken to release their chemical energy potential to facilitate other cellular activities/reactions...:coffee: it is after all, a Primary nutrient! :crisps:.... 7+ zips! A lordly haul mate-, now pay your dues for the help and lay some dry-porn on the table, talk her up-- buzz, aroma,...:hump:

>>> I can't wait to get the Creeper auto going! Just waiting for the weather to get a bit better (tent is outside in a small courtyard, under eaves)... She will have Livers bx testing right next to her, along with a Magic strains unrelesed cross GhostDawg Haze x BubbaTrouble, and one other I am agonizing over about on choices-

thanks, @Waira you stopped me freaking out also I'm going to start using the mammoth p in my feed schedule as these are the 3 sssc ladies all on my auto 47 l res and with my emerald harvest nutes instead of my normal remo feed I fancied a change also as I said to @arty zan I couldn't find the support and friendship like I get here anywhere else your all absolute legends :bighug::pass::cheers: and I would love to be able to share my harvests as you deserve a little more than just thanks as you all mean a great deal to me

Hey @Waira
Kind word given when deserved but also happy tom offer them to a friend!:pighug:
It is just a hunch but thought the way the plant was growing a possible likelihood but just a best guess from a possible genetic trait.
I have only heard good things about Mammoth P, it is pricey stuff @£80 for 250 ml so haven't got around to buying some.
I remember writing quite lengthy post about the ATP cycle here at AFN but that was back when I had been not long been out of college.
It always amazes me how you remember the scientific processes and it is something i doff my cap to you on!
I will sit back and watch the Creeper auto grows as I have too many strains to choose from right now.
If she becomes a must have, then I guess I must have her!
Fingers crossed for warm weather to come your way, :hump:
Can't beat a bit of Mephisto gear, Liver Bx should be a good'un!
Will be good to see Magics new genetics grown out, looks like you're ahead of the curve on a number of levels here with you new fancy stains!!!
Choices, choices, always choices, there was a time when life was more simple, you'd buy a pack of seeds and grow a pack of seeds, these days we got them coming out our ears. I no longer get excited at the prospect of free seeds because they just go in to the box titled "pending" and then it takes several hours of umming and ahhing, which one to choose!
Weed porn , oh yes we love weed porn and the descriptions, oh the descriptions they are sometimes enough to make a grown man cry, with tears of joy as we imagine the beautiful scents of the terps, mingling in the mind like honeyed ambrosia, food of the gods. ( just having a moment here lmao)!:haha:

Just checked shot glass and Cookies auto has just cracked! @St. Tom
I dropped the other Cookies seed by accident and on to a brown carpet no less, so I was pinning all my hopes on this seed.
I have other Dinafem strains but I wanted to join in on doing a Cookies solo cup grow with you, as per the original comp!
I'm off now to get it in some damp tissue and wait for the tap root and then in to a horticultural sponge.
I'm really excited about this grow as we are only days apart in starting it!!

it will be a laugh and its a great strain also the mammoth p i bought because @Dinafem-Mark for the cookies contest put a 500 euro prize for the best diary he's a legend on here and another who i class as a forever friend so a 1st 2nd and 3rd cash prize to spend at a grow shop so i bought an ltr and looked that maybe i could gift some small decanted bottles to friends on here and then carona hit to that went to fuck but i still plan on doing it as i don't need it all

It sure will!:woohoo1:
It will be my first full cookies strain although Fruit cake has animal cookies in it.
Holy crap boy done good! 500 euros is a nice spend at the shop.
You bought a liter , fair go mate, i just checked and that will make 6000 liters.
Yeah sodding corona but at least you won't run out of nutes!
I may have to get a 120mll bottle if I am to keep up with you lmao
I also noticed the kelp spray bottle foliar feeding is a sure fire way to get good growth!
I was using straight seaweed organic fertilizer on the seedlings but just switched to optic foliar overgrow.
