This one is for MikeyB...remember I said there are Alternate ways with water in Spain..?

This is the funniest I have seen..old wreck of a house and a couple of weeks ago a glass shower cubicle suddenly appeared..outdoors..with a 50 gallon water butt on top of it...

I haven't seen anybody use it yet..but I expect the water is still a bit cold...

Maybe the shower user has included all mod cons?

I wouldn't be Surprised.....damned Extravagance if you ask me..the drainage canal is only a short sprint away..and they still want all the mod cons...bet they have a hessian sack to dry on too...

Meanwhile back at the Ranch.....rain totally stopped play.

The farmer didn't phone to cancel..but it was hammering down...didn't take much guessing.



Fingers Crossed that the weather forecast is right and we start towards more spring like conditions..and this was the last of it passing by.

Me black fig started putting up leaf buds..and I noticed..fig embryos too..."pher Wiggle" ..I Wonder if I'll get fruit this season..if not..I know a fig tree down by the beach that no one seems to pick..when they are in season I have brecky on the dog walk..and a couple more in me pocket for when I get home.

The weather was much the same yesterday..so I got a trip to the garden centre....I Love garden centres.

I got a French lavender and a Paraguaya bush for hubby.

I spotted this..and was sorely tempted to ask for it for me birthday..I've never seen a pineapple bush before..

But it was 37 euros..:jaw:..and when I turned it around it had a big mangy hole in the fruit..so I didn't bother.


Does anyone do apples..?..I Think this is an apple tree..I also Think it has canker..can anyone confirm..

I don't know whether to leave it to see what it does..or give it up as a bad job...:dunno:

Mossy, you can do your own pineapple from one in the grocery or market, just twist the stalk off the top of the fruit, peel some of the leaves off the bottom and set it on a glass jar with some weak grow water in it. When you see roots plant it.
Takes two years to get fruit.
I have one that should produce this year.
I have papaya, mango, mandrin, lemon, tangerine, avocado, blackberry and blueberry.
I am going to get an apple and a stonefruit of some sort this year and contemplate some other trees.
Have you ever done artichokes. Holy moley, they are huge!

The farmer came..and we have the fine cut on...we promised ourselves an early finish....returning to pick the dogs up to go home some friends followed us in.
Yapping and coffee-ing with friends when he popped in to say he would be back @ 4pm to do it..
if we had went home we would have missed him.

His 4pm..turned out to be 5 pm..Spanish Time.....you get used to it..took him about an hour to finish.

Hubby says to him..now all we need is the agricultural water switched on..so they went out to look.

He told hubby just to Use it...:slaps:..

He showed him the sluice to flood the field..which we had already figured out..and says you will have to pump it in from the other sluice for the interior. "pher Wiggle""pher Wiggle""pher Wiggle"..We have agricultural water...."pher Wiggle""pher Wiggle""pher Wiggle"

Well..we will today..coz I can guarantee hubby will be giving it a try.

Start using the water Mossy and you'll soon find out who's in charge of the water distribution . 9 chances out of 10 you won't hear from anybody .

We used to do it when we were kids..but the plants never come to much in the UK..
Next pineapple I get..I will be trying.

I have fruit tree envy..but I will catch up...I Fancy a hazel nut tree and cherry too...

How long have you had you avocado and has it fruited yet..?

I was reading the other day that they can take 10-12 years to fruit..:jaw:..so it kind of put me off.

All of the fields around me are full of them..Spanish favourite.
Homework says that the Leaves of the artichoke are as beneficial as the artichoke itself.

So when the farmers gets all the artichokes cut...I'll be gathering and drying the leaf for our med program.....the leaves are wasted..so I should get them for Free..same with the broccoli next year.

I grow apples but I can't really tell if that is one until the leaves come out.
