I Heard some take a long germ time..the ones I have up to now have been fairly fast.
One of the chilli co's said pre-soak in chamomile water..have you Heard that one before JM...?

Ronin..have you grown the willie chillies...?

We had a really good laugh with them last season...and what about Tabasco....?
They are Really hot little buggers...

Not specific to peppers... but chamomile prevents and / or stops damping off diseases... so it is prob either about that... or the fact the chamomile (biodymanically, energetically) is a calcium and sulfur signature.

Cheers JM...useful to know.
Sometimes February can be prone to a bit of dampening off..if I See it now..I'll get them some chamomile tea bags..until I get me own grown.

JM is once again spot on.:tiphat:
Chamomile kills off the nasties.
But don't use full strength tea, use a spent tea bag for the soak.

I have grown the Willies.
Over here they're known as Peter Peppers.
The heat is that of cayenne. No real flavor to speak of..

The general rule is the smaller the pepper the hotter.
Most of the micro(ornamental) peppers are also really bitter.
Making them into jams is the most common recipe for the smaller varieties.

very!! and glad you arent letting him put poisons on your land! :dance2:

just cover and let die / rot... :check:

Yup..my way too...:tiphat:..He'll Learn.....

Excellent Tip Guys cheers....I have Chamomile seed..so I'll work out a formula for fresh dried as we go.

If the wet weather kicks in for too long..I can get a dampening off problem Jan/Feb.

Must admit..I never Tried one.....we gave them all away for Novelty Value.
If I do Think about setting up a chilli stand in our local market..I'll be growing them for a Talking point...

lol, sounds like our cable technician. Make sure you are home between 8AM and 8PM today and if we don't show up today then you can take another day off to wait on them to fix a problem that they created and you are paying for.

We went down with a Chinese...good smokes and a bottle of brandy the other night to check....:coffee2:....it looks just as pretty in the dark.

The farmer has been contacted and we are expecting him sometime next week..then Hopefully things can get moving.

Hubby says if it is delayed he will strim a patch off and put the greenhouse up anyway..but it will be easier to get the tractor In if it is empty.

Easier to dig the tunnel cover in too...I'm all for keeping spade work to a minimum....

I took the time lapse camera down today..I'll stick it a couple of places..see where we get best coverage of the patch.

happy Christmas to me..happy Christmas to me....:coffee2:...they are what I spent me Christmas voucher on....

3 green Chinese tea plants on the right...then reading from right to left...a kaffir lime tree..a neem tree..and a ylang ylang tree...well they will be when they grow a bit..

They arrived in good condition despite the delay in Madrid.

The ylang ylang is looking a bit droopy..but our temps have just dropped like a stone today..so fingers crossed it is okay.
I'll give them a few days Rest before I consider repotting them.

The guy that owns the Planted fields around us has made himself known a couple of times.

They are busy harvesting the broccoli from the field in front of us..so he came and gave hubby 3 heads.

We are Thinking...if we asked him if he wants to Use the big field for crops for a year or two...while we get on setting the paddock area up and build up stock.

First off it gets the field used..so it saves us keeping the weeds down.
Second...he is going to use the agricultural water system..so he will help us fix it..and also..we can Watch how he does it.
Third..if we let him use the field..he might plough the paddock for us...

and fourth..he has all the wholesale farming contacts we need for orange trees/hens etc...

Something to Consider....:coffee2:

Sounds like a deal Mossy!

Probably the kind of guy that will love showing y'all how to get the property running.
Most farmers I know are if they aren't pressed for time.

Neighbors can make a good place , better!
