i think so too all of them have come out of the dirt and are smiling at the new MH in the room. Couple of them have dark red and purple cotyledon's already. The Black Fairy lights X Dragon have some of the same thing going on and they all germed too.

Left and middle..Roxi-Baby....

pretty bitch isn't she. Should see some interesting things in here with her. Not sure how many you ran on that germ to get those but i got 15 of them out im hoping that something shows new :D

fantastic pictures wiz, thanks m8 for sharing :)

here is somethig i read on another forum

I am wondering something... The best thriving annual/perrenial plant resembling canna under semi-arctic conditions is the "horsma" wich happen to be purple too.

Is this now complete coincidence or could there be a logical explanation for it?

I can completely imagine that the colour is related to the type of environment in wich they seem to thrive best.

I know for a fact that besides of the genetical thingy, the colour purple is normally related to a difficulty in taking up phosporous due to cold circumstances.

SP , M3C4, BG, Piel? are you still following me? cuzz I feel I'm up to something but just cannot seem to place it in the right perspective.

I can imagine that our plants have found a way to survive better under cold conditions by evolving a geneticly coded colour that suits them best.

There is no point thus far, just pondering out loud. And yes I know there are plenty of breeders in in, as well as outdoors at lower lattitudes who take pleasure in maintaining this peticular colour for their own private reasons, but I think it is not just that. There has to be more to it imho.

Anyone else who could point me in the right direction of how to correctly interpretate this peticular fenomenon ?

i came across this post on a forum and found it very interesting, ill have to experiment with purple plants. In nature, nothing is redundant, everything is there for a reason... purple plants has some type of advantage over the green ones in some circumstances or they would not have existed.

im hearing lots of nordic growers say that they think purps are less prone to mold..

wiz, you have the most experience with purple autos of anyone i know.. could there be "something" interesting for us to look into here?

hope you dont mind if i step in on this one too arcticsun, but i have to agree with you. Im left with the same questions too. Im not sure about the color and mold situation, and Wiz is the one for that, but there IS something to it all, where do the colors come from and why seems to be the biggest un answered question related to cannabis. Like the post said above temps and genetics can play the biggest role in this, but it had to get that ability from somewhere. Something changed in the genetic code to allow that physical change in the plant, so i would say evolving to the environment could be the closest thing i can wrap my head around.

One other thing is the smell/taste. Some of these plants, have such a strong smell that if you were to run it past a blind man it could confuse him. Where did that come from, why does it smell grape when its not even related to a grape, same with Lemon, and all the other citrus ones. Thats what really boggles me. I have had smoke that tastes like a spoon full of fruity pebbles, its just one thing i cant wrap my head around. Where and why did they get those smells.
