Indoor Royal Jack Auto

Harvest, day 67, and I have tried some finger gloves and I like them. I pulled off the fan leaves and that was quicker than trimming. The plant was 25 inches and looks like maybe 2-2.5 oz dry. There was a few foxtails starting to pop out but the trics were mostly milky but no amber. A little early but last summer I waited until about day 75 for some amber, about 10%, hope I can tell a difference.

Thanks. My eyes were bigger than my scales, yield is just over 50 gr and a few grams of air buds. I tested a bud and there is more up than the plant I let go till day 75 last summer, which is what I wanted. A pepper taste which will improve after the cure but the buds were not as compact as they should be, too many lower small buds. Royal Jack auto is a great daytime smoke, a happy and active high that lasts well. When I looked at the root ball I found the last two inches were more like a bog than soil, not enough perlite, almost no roots. The plants I have in my other tent have more perlite and are growing much better. This next grow will be my third using just potting soil and the only problem now is the gnats. I really miss pro-mix ultimate medium, it was so easy to use but the ph was low most of the time and it was not easy to adjust, imo. To prevent gnats I will add more perlite to the bottom of the pot and add more to the top also but I will soak the perlite with neem oil and diom... stuff. This will stop new bugs, I hope, and discourage egg laying. Flypaper and a kill on contact insecticide, maybe a dish of apple cider and dish soap in the tent. If this fails I guess change to a sterile soil or back to pro-mix hp. Things would be easier if I wasn't so cheap and bought the high dollar soil I guess. If I soak the soil with stuff to kill bugs I will kill the microbes as well, miss one egg and that bitch will lay 200 more when she grows-up. Maybe we just have to learn to live and let live....hell no, kill them all.

The royal jack sounds like great smoke! Did you start another thread for the new ones?

The gnats are a pain in the ass, mine reemerged for another round . I'm adding a neem granule mix to my soil for the next batch

Yes, it is a good smoke but I think I like the older, (10-15% amber) about 11 weeks, buds better. This had no amber and about half and half milky and clear. I have an Auto Seed chemdog up but the second one didn't pop so I still need to work on my medium. I will go back to a 50/50 mix of pro-mix hp and black gold potting soil. The Fox Farm nutes seem to salt-up quicker in this soil mix, even with 20% extra perlite added and 20-25% run-off. Every grow I tell myself I need to switch to either an organic soil or different brand of nutes (ph perfect?). But I have a shelf full of the stuff and I never seem to have $200 extra around for a new line-up, also I don't handle a failed grow very well. I am saving my last RQS AK auto seed until I get the medium right.

I know about no extra money! If you have a mix that worked I would go back to it. You can use up the nutes that way with out all the problems
