What I find really interesting is how incorrect my assumptions were on "maximizing potential"...

I felt like for a while now, I'd been dialing in my set-up and providing all, or close to all, that my plants could
need or want...that a lack of deficiencies along with little to no burning meant that realization of potential was
relatively high. And that may very well be the case, given the set-up.

However, your (Ronin's) and gbd's (among others) plants exhibit this rapid development of multiple offshoots
and budsites, limbs, limb length, etc.

Now, you guys each have much more experience...I won't act like that's not the case...

BUT

One thing you guys have in common, I believe, is HPS for veg. and I find that VERY intriguing.

I'm also beginning to see a trend that basically amounts to "Super healthy, lively soil" is more
important than any amount or combination of nutrients aimed at feeding the plant. Maybe I'm
dense or stubborn, and maybe that has been parlayed to me before and I didn't grasp the depth
of the comment...but it seems like some of that is becoming demonstrably evident.

I used to think that a plant grown without deficiency or burning meant that it was most likely
becoming a version of it's "perfect self", but it's obvious that environmental variables define
what that comes out looking like.
she reposes nicely in the spotlight. Yup, nature grows the best potting soil.

ooops, I mean natural processes, like the incorporation of plant nutrients into the soil as available food via decomp. We as composters are knee deep in it , stirring the soup.

I appreciate it, Brother ;)

And you're right...a slightly different set of realities at 8000ft.
And as a point of fact, there's about 2.3 lights per plant if you count the CFLs
and the Reflector Series as basically 2 UFO's worth.

I guess what I'm thinking is that true "tailoring" or "horticulture" sometimes
consists of using things like stretch to your advantage...

A little leg room allows for the earlier and more complete development of some
of the secondary and tertiary stuff.

When stretch equates to a diminishing return on penetration it's bad, when it's
used to create a structure that can then benefit more fully from the available
light, it's good. It truly is an art, not just setting good conditions, but bending
information to your purposes.

Each grower's circumstances are unique. I like tall and spreading, got lots of sunlight and need good circ come fall time

I definitely find stretching my ladies works well for me.
My thought is to get 360° light penetration around all budsites.
With that, my goal is trichome production and terpene development.
I've never been a yield chaser. Quality rather than quantity.
I have spoken to "local LED light reps" that believe stretch is a form of stress:shrug:and should be avoided..
To each his own I suppose...

I guess it all comes down to tailoring the grow with the variables at hand.

yup potency trumps production. I've never observed stretch as a negative, I do feel the need for absolute control will bite me in the ass, if I fail to take my cues from the plant. Strict adherence to my grow agenda usually leads to disappointment.

Here's some pics of my lady before lights off.

She's a bit droopy from her long night shift.

She's now standing 15"/38cm tall.

Her diet consists of the following:
1ml BioWeed/1ml BioRoot/1ml BioCalMag/1ml Diamond Black per gallon.
She is currently drinking an average of 1 liter per day.

Good day all:cheers:
