My contractor showed up today after a two week hiatus... We put in the air scrubber and exchange units and are testing it all tonight before tweaking it if need be... I we may put in one more fresh air intake on the opposite side of the rear wall... Here is a video update...

I'm subbed to see what you're gonna do with all that room. That's going to be one sweet grow space by the time you're done. Just killer...

Thanks man! So far, all things considered, I'm pretty happy with how things are shaping up... Glad you can share the experience... [emoji854]

I'm curious, Rhyce... Did you design and build all those nifty PVC roll around units you've got all your ladies presently sitting on? I like those a lot! Are you going to continue to use them once your space gets all set up?

I use something similar, but I didn't build it. I purchased a sturdy, roll around metal garment rack off of e-bay which has three strong hanging rods up top where I can hang all my lights and stuff from. There is also a sturdy shelf up top that will make installing a carbon filter above the LED an easy job. The bottom part of the rack has a metal shelf that sits about 4-5 inches off the floor, so it's perfect to slide a drip pan under the pots to collect all the run off.

I live in a mid-eighties double-wide mobile home and have very little confidence that my ceiling would hold up all the lights and equipment so the garment rack was the perfect answer for me. The carts would also work very will for people who live in apartments where they can't get too crazy about hanging stuff from the ceilings. A good roll around garment rack provides all the structure they need.

Ah yes! Necessity is the mother of invention! I never thought of a garment cart but they sound awesome!

The pvc suits the need but would not support any LED fixture... The pvc configuration was born from spare parts as a kind of cheap way of prototyping and filling the need... If I continue with 400 watt hps per 2x4 cart I'll consider a more stable configuration...

I love the flexibility the carts lend to my room... It allows me to handle numerous plants with ease and maximize space utilization. With cart mounted fixtures, and subsequently, autonomous plumbing, it's like the 'works in a drawer'... Just keep plopping down new girls when the old ones go... Cradle to grave... Same room, lights, etc... Regardless of age...

I recently had some agricultural execs from Illinois visit who were amazed at some of the innovations we employ... They even were able to solve a vexing odor issue in a large scale silage operation they were working on after seeing how we 'scrub' our air...

This is what I've found to be so pleasurable about working in and with our community... So many incredibly genius ideas and innovations... This ain't your grandaddies garden no more!

Rhyce? Here's maybe an idea that could help you out. There are several varieties of bamboo with a diameter of less than an inch that actually provide a tensile strength greater than steel! In fact, in Asia bamboo is used instead of rebar in modern building sites. Off the top of my head, one of the stronger varieties has the common name of "pole vault" bamboo and is grown extensively in California and probably the deep south as well. You could shove something strong like a very strong 3/4" inch bamboo down the middle of your PVC pipe and probably end up with something strong enough to hang an LED off of.

That'd sure make all those beautiful carts you built a whole lot more useful... I spent $45 on my garment rack and have wondered if I could've saved myself some money constructing something out of PVC. But if PVC isn't strong enough to hang an LED off of, well then I'm glad I went ahead and spent the money.

Why didn't I think of that? Doh!

I love the implementation I've got thus far... The 400w hps lamps are producing dense and frosty nugs @ 5-6 3 gal containers per... My best average so far has been 1.5 oz/plant... Trying to increase the average and I do believe it's possible to hit 2...

Oh man, you're gonna have 2 ozs. dialed in! I've looked at your grows. You'll do it!

And hey, now that I think about it, you probably wouldn't need to shove bamboo down the center of your PVC pipes; just tie in a couple of short bamboo cross braces across the top pieces to get the strength you need. Hell, you could even do that with duct tape! (But using your drill and some bolts would probably look a whole lot better...)

Man, if you could just hang your lights off those carts, it'd just be dream-easy to do a grow in your space. You'd have things just aced!!!! :vibe:
