Got that covered too!

Green Poison -autocob test grow pic2 -4-17-2017.jpg

I would go with four Cobs that @BigSm0 is making that way you can adjust accordingly to the size of the plant you are growing under it.

"organic" ph solutions in hydro SUCK. Get regular PH down. I've tried everything......

My DWC rez is causing me fits. the pH does not want to settle in. And the amounts I normally would use yo drop 1 point for example, are not working. I calibrated my pen, and checked its readings against a liquid indicator. This is getting frustrating. I dumped the rez and started over, and I'm only adding one cupful at a time of Earth Juice Double Down, and it looks good. I come back in an hour and it's back up.... WTF!

It seems to me that unless I can recover the cost quickly with electrical saving (2 or 3 grows) I am not ready to invest in COB yet. My concerns has never been efficiency per watt, or efficiency at all. My concern is yield, and time taken to grow it. How could you sell me the benefits of COB's with just yield and time as the variables considered?

I have an job interview in an hour, wish me luck! Gotta pay the tax man.

The old tech works, its just not worth investing in anymore. Right now, you'll still spend more up front, but the savingsin power and consumables that arew no longer needed is a secondary benefit. If you can pull 1gpw with HPS your near the top of your game. A newb who does things basically right with modern COBs for lighting is going to see 1.25gpw easily. It looks like Big Smo may it a pound or more with just 4 cobs running at a total of 220 watts! That over 2gpw!
Wow .....i will be happy if i get anything over 2 or 3 oz between both plants ,but my next lot have had a lot more care ,and are gonna be really big this time ,i encountred some major probs to start with and had to do over my grow room ,and the seedlings ive done this time have had properly cooked soil and phd at 6.5 ,germed at 6.5 ph in 50/50soil and perlite so im hoping they might be better again ....its all a learning curve [emoji111]

I cut 1000 watts out of my growroom power load converting to COB tech........ for me, thats about $0.15/hr and one tent is always on 24/0........ you add it up!

Don't forget to smile and when you shake hands pull the interviewer towards you it's an old sales trick . :toke:

Right, I see that for larger systems no doubt. I would use COB's if I were investing in a greenhouse business for example, without question. For weed growing at home though, I would likely not save more than 200 watts, and only during flower. So the only real benefit for me is more PAR photons to the plant. I don't really see that increasing yield much, perhaps trichomes though.

Hps and a REALLY REALLY top notch grower 1-1.25 gpw. Average grower and COBS, should see in excess of 1gpw, likely 1.2 to 1.6! And even pro growers in the commercial area will tell you COB led bud is superior to any other in quality and potency. With some experience using these lights, 2gpw is well within reason. And there are guys out there exceeding even that.

My test of Big Smo's Autocobs is on the extreme end as I'm usingf just two cobs for 2 plants, and the plants are in only 2 gallon pots. I'm hoping for 60g per plant, maybe a tall order in such small pots, but regardless, it should show the potential waiting to be unlocked! I was afraid to use my 3.9 gallon pots in that little tent.......lol!
