I'm thankful for my greenhouse! May 1st I plan on planting. Was hoping to sooner but too much to do to get the new one secure against wind.

After 77 years in Canada I know winter / spring here but it's still very tempting to " buck the odds " so to speak.

There is no such thing as a GOOD, cheap ph meter. I learned the hard way, cot me an entire crop. I replace my first one with 2! BOTH of them crapped out in less than 6 months...

Blue Labs are good, but, IMO, EXTECH is the best. i've been using their PH100 series with a PH105 tip. Around $100 if you shop around. I've had to calibrate it once in 2.5 year. Just ran the original batteries dead... Popped in some new ones, check calibration...guess what, STILL dead on! I highly reccomend this pen. Water proof ( yeah! ) accurate ot 0.01. I now replace the tip yearly, about $50. Cheap insurance if you ph a lot of water like I do. But properly cared for, the tip can last years.

I don't realy need a ph meter the ph here is anywere from 6.1 to 6.5 but somebody gifted me a whole bunch of seeds that I value highly so I am using Grodan plugs to start them . Grodan says that the ph of the water to activate the plug and start seedling should be 5.5. Who knew . I'm trying to be more carefull with seedlings to see if they'll start faster .

I cut the tops off, the rest of the plant is still 36 inches high. Before you let me know that they are immature, know that it's a hermie, and I'm willing to seed up the kolas. They are 75% or more cloudy at least. Some all cloudy.

Hi Afn family
I want to say a short hello to the family.
I restart growing but didn't got the time for a full journal. The breeding projects restart soon but at first i do a run for some personal med. In the next week i setup my male room.
I will be more online in the next week's till i manage my private things.
The bad news but a bit personal, i lost my job.
The good news, i got more time for the kids, dogs and my growing projects.

Have a nice Eastern and enjoy the time with your family.

Dont let it get you down, you'll enjoy the breeding and the kids will enjoy more time with daddy. Always---

Hey Bear

I have been using one of these. Roughly $20 but it takes a month of travel. Seems accurate and holds cal pretty well if it's kept clean and upright. Gonna get a second later in the year as a back up.

while I am on the subject, any beverage from a national corporation is going to have a very strict control on the formula's of their products. This means that the pH of that can of soda or the brand of juice you get for the kids will be VERY consistent. Particularly from the same production plant. That means that when you do your initial calaibration of your pen and before you use it you should run around and measure any of these kinds of items that are common in your household. Calibration packets and solution cost money. A can of soda is cheap. Just pour off an ounce in a cup and measure. Pour the rest in your rum and get on with it. This is a really neat way to check your calibration often without burning through money.

And bear knows well but for others. pH is the key to growing good plants. period.

Damn! Looks like broke ass CO is getting a PH meter  im a funny guy, running 1k+ leds and cant affort a Ph meter...:crying: thanks dude! btw where do you get the ph data to the drink? google or what?

I've been playing around with revegging plants. I left one small branch and a tiny bud, on the Ducksfoot I harvest a couple months ago. Put her on 24/0 in with other plants and just left her to do her thing. Had to move her yesterday to the small tent to hang out until May 1st, when I'm going to do a stealth outdoor grow with her.

Her she is today. sorry, I didn't get pics of her when she was a stump, but you can guess from her looks...
