Want to keep it Simple as the Title. Looking for Experiences & Builds that have been derived from Alibaba Suppliers!

I have not purchased any products from Alibaba, but have been diligently communicating & researching options.

Following are Some various companies I've contacted & rough opinion:

(All companies usually begin with Shenzhen)

Bava Technology; Cheap PCB Light Kits, Inferior Heatsinks to Meijiu, They have an interesting PCB with UV/660nm/FR?

Feidaming; Custom Manufacturer, Larger MOQ

KingBrite; Source for COBs & more recently PCBs. I was interested rather in the fact they carry individual Cree XP-E diodes on a PCB.

Meijiu; More PCB kits, but I think a better heatsink. Also they have an interesting 800 diode PCB.

Mufue; PCBs again... Also have the popular 96 diode strips

R2T; Again Custom Manufacturer

And So Many More...... (Please correct anything I have mistaken. Thank you kindly)

The Custom Companies seem legit I think though. They'll have lead times and hopefully overall good quality.

Other companies seemingly got wise and carry stock for immediate shipping for March Expo

Moving On, Thanks, Post your experience or current build from Ali & maybe we can weed through the illegitimate companies.

Not everyday we get summoned by Benjamin Franklins...wait LOL

They are all pretty much the same except for possibly Mufue and HS. If going for custom orders (Meaning Quantity!), they can all do the same for you apple to apple. So the only difference imo would be price and possibly service.

For us layman growers, the only difference is the different type of boards that each company carries. The more board types, means the company invested in more molds etc. These would be the options available to us retail quantity buyers. In short, any company can make any type of board. Its just a matter of demand for them.

Standard 96 strips, 288 boards are available from almost all mentioned above, and more.

At the end of the day, choose a size that fits your conditions.

Whether it is one big board or several small ones? Whether to run them hard with heatsinks and/ or active cooling, or run them soft without? Whether to have one board with all the spectrum from start to finish? Or add supplemental? Or spend more to make them all individually controlled on one board? Dim or without? More expensive V2 or cheaper V1? Or a mix? Atm, China don't offer 90CRI diodes so just leave that aside. Then, compare prices or judge by your own criterias.

You should be set to purchase! You'll love these lights!

I’ve dealt with 2 company’s on Alibaba.com.
Meijiu and Ningbo Dericsson.
Both had fast and friendly service and the items ordered showed up in good packaging and appear to be of good quality.
I just ordered boards from meijiu and the drivers from Dericsson. The drivers look like the real deal and perform well. The boards are flawless and solid.
I‘m happy with both companies and would order again.

@Equatorial Rita told me they do 90cri a few weeks ago.

90CRI only for V1 boards. Not V2.

I have read that mixing 80 and 90CRI is a good way to complete the spectrum with more red. But since we add red already, it would make sense that we use the more efficient 80cri.

Interesting :)
I have to admit, my knowledge about spectrum is about at this level :
Blue=vegging, red=flowering

I’ve got no experience with Alibaba suppliers , just what I’ve read on AFN /RIU . Just can’t stand shills talking shit about people who bye them . They have a lot more options with red & what not then other companies at the moment & people who use them do awesome . I actually use HLG, if I knew of alibaba before I purchased I may have got some of those fotop 800’s with some added reds ? It’s a good price !

Thank you both for clarifying your position. Based upon quotes in the other thread and responses here I’m sure most people will be able to make their own assumptions on your positions. Was trying to look past your antagonistic synicism in the other threads and thought you were genuinely trying to help. If you believe your comments are worthwhile towards the positive environment of the site then leave them as they are. I will be sure to refrain from including you if you don’t feel you can be productive.

Nah...you wouldn't have bought the red supplement boards if thats the case. If we only want red for flower, just use all red diodes. But as we can see from YouTube vids or grow journals, too much red causes excessive stretch, lotsa flower matter but less dense, less resin etc.

The reason we bought the red supplements is of course as you said, more red for flower. The specific 660 and 730nm used is to provide Emerson effect which pretty much means increasing rate of photosynthesis. In return, should give us fat dense nugs when used during flower.

We'll find out if its all bs though.....soon enough LOL

Well, the harvest I just did was more like nuts, not buds. Hard AF and hardly any popcorn either. So, that makes me happy. These plants have only been under this light for the last 3 weeks if flowering.
