Hadn't seen this thread , but have had a wee bit of experience with the mighty little mites. A previous grow room was self contained with filtered air etc . all of a sudden I had mites . After much research finally figured out that the most likely cause was me coming in from the outdoors and not changing my clothes etc . Basically they hitched a ride on me to my grow room .

Tried neem , soaps , and even emptied the room and completely cleaned it . They still came back . i finally broke down and bought ladybugs and that seemed to do the trick . Once there were no mights left the LB population dropped and then died off .

Something every grower should think about is , never go into your grow with the same clothes you had on when outdoors . Never let pets near your grow ( freind had his infested that way) . Ounce of prevention.........

I'm still trying to figure out if what I got is lady bugs. I got these things that kind of look like lady bubs except they are orangy and have smaller black spots and stink if you handle them. Are they lady bugs too.

Nelson, I'll try to find some more info for you and put up a link.

mite be wrong dude but when i had spidermiters i baught 2000 red predetor mites there on houses somtimes, they scout and look about and hunt spider mites, there a fast cure, neem in an oilburner with lavendar pepermint and eucaliptus will flush em out,

but red mites are normaly precent if you have normal mites that suck plants they hunt em and eat em once gone they die off, thats the normal anyways :S are they showing damage to the plants (can you see any black headed ones)

There wasn't a lot of damage to the plants some browning of the lower leaves but mostly a lot of bugs on the leaves and spider webs all over the buds. I had to cut it all down and burn it. Those red mites are really hard to kill. I tried everything to get rid of them. They are still gone and haven't come back. I credit the Ortho insect strips for keeping them away. I wish there was a surefire non poison way to manage them and maybe I will try something in the Summer but I for sure need the crop right now and don't want to risk them returning.
