Last night Sugarbaker [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] showed male. I'm hesitant to say but I have a gut feeling that the other 6 are females. We'll see. He will live and be used to make SB F2s.

I'm going to elaborate on my approach to breeding. I have my own thought process on how to truly select properly... The best way. And its working so far. In no way is it an original idea or approach. But it should shed some light on how I do things...

@Eyeoftheworld here's the pics of the male...

I tried to get as close as I could. You'll notice male pre flowers where calyxes would normally be and on the top of the cola in the middle you'll see what I call a "Pineapple" shaped head. This will be the top of a large cluster of pollen sacks as it grows. He'll be around for a few weeks so you'll see him grow out properly.

This is what i look for and ID the male way before they show a sign of sex on the internode. You grow these long enough you will see the male crown like that. Its why i ask for overhead shots from new growers i can ID that as soon as i see it.

Sugarbaker [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] is a female! So far 1 male and one female out of 7. Maybe my hunch is right. Maybe I do have 6 females out of 7. We'll find out soon enough. Males usually show before females.

So for the record [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] showed male at day 14 above ground/17 from sow. [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] showed female at day 15 above ground /18 from sow.
