OK not to ignore all you guys' previous posts but its almost 5am... I have to be up in 5 hrs. I can't sleep so I've been thinking about my plants and the leds...
I think I just had an epiphany lmao but seriously. And if anyone thinks this is old news please yell up because its late and I just may be stoned and silly...
OK so last few days I've been playing with heights on my seedlings. I lowered the led a few inches and I noticed yesterday and today I have a bit of taco'ing going on... But didn't move the led.
Today I'm in there and right under the light with the kids. Now this is my thought process. For years I've been told and repeated to countless others that taco'ing is from heat. "oh its too hot. Use your hand to feel out the heat. Raise it up."
Now I'm not saying there's no correlation at all between heat and leaf curling upwards but today I put my hand over the seedlings. No heat at all. I put the top of my hand directly on the modules/diodes. No heat AT ALL.
My point. Intensity. How can the taco'ing be happening with no excessive heat? In the room or right up on them? It was 75 in my room today. Its the intensity of the led lights that are causing the taco'ing.
OK so what does this mean? Is this BAD? If you are thinking in regards to heat well yes. But heat and intensity are two different things. Anyone following me? Lol
Please post your thoughts... I want to know if this is old news or legitimate... Or is it late and I'm just slow in catching up to old news?
