Harvest Day: Day 96 for the Northern Lights and Top gun. I would have preferred to leave them to possibly bulk up more, especially the NL. But we are going to be getting a week of rain with an average humidity of 85% starting in 2 days. So I decided to chop down both plants. Dang are they colorful, my wife asked to press and keep a couple of leaves from both cause they turned so pretty.
I will have to do a separate post for each plant, I have too many pictures
Top Gun & Bud washing:
This plant was a breeze, easy growing with very little problems, I would love to give this another go when we have more sunlight. But I still feel blessed to even be able to produce any bud outside during the fall and winter months. I also decided to give bud washing a try. 3 bucket system each bucket with about 2 gallons of water. The first bucket was tap water with 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup baking soda. The second and third buckets were cold R/O water. Trimmed off branches and fan leaves, then agitated them in each bucket for 30 seconds starting with the lemon/soda bucket. Then shook them out as best I could and hung them in the shade on a fence. I will leave them there for the next 3 hours, outside is sunny, mid 70s, and humidity is in the 20s. After they hang dry for a few hours I will trim them like I usually do and brown bag them to dry as normal.
My 3 buckets, the white one is the Lemon/Soda, last bucket is in the back to the left of the door
Love the looks of this plant, wish she got more sun throughout her life
Let the washing begin
Just hanging out now
Bucket after washing the whole plant
Stem was so small compared to the NL
