Terple,
Hi

I'm planning to get 4 x 8 x 6ft grow tent in my basement. And also have a 2.7 x 2.7 x 6ft grow tent. In the 4 x 8 tent I'll be using the TSW 2000 (300 W ) and TSW 3000 (450W) LED lights. And for the small tent I'll be using the TS 1000 (150W). My question is if my basement is always open, do I still need to vent outside?

Thanks

If you exhaust through a carbon filter in the room, you will need to have a window cracked for fresh air. That is crucial. I've had my inline fan and filter outside my tent for years with no problems. And again, you need to have a window cracked.

If you will be using the same MarsHydro TS1000 I suspect you are referring to.
I would highly recommend you run the lights with the drivers removed, and placed outside of the tent. They can generate some serious heat that is not appreciated by your plants. Having the window cracked open is optional. A good idea for venting, but terrible for theft. The carbon filter will be a must, no question about it. Also, being in the basement means humidity concerns , so get a hydrometer. Even a cheap one will do.

What I think I'll do is get a dehumidifier to deal with humidity and have a window open in an another room in the basement. I should be okay then, no?

Indeed. And here is hoping that you have a harvest the size of a Redwood tree.
