Indoor Question about Topping

I've just started 4 Big Bang Auto's and I've been reading a lot about topping to create 2 colas. I'm just curious if that works well with AF's and when exactly is the best time to top a plant?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Hey andzep15. Great question. Fiming would also create multiple tops. But not sure if you could Fim a AF. I'm sure some of the advanced growers will assist you

I've experimented with topping autos and it does work. I'd suggest doing it at week 3. Expect flowering to be delayed by about a week while the plant recovers. I didn't see an increase in yield but the plants did stay shorter.

Awesome, thats exactly what I'm looking for, I prefer the short bushy plants to the tall lanky ones. What in your opinion is the best tool to top with? I've heard several different ways but I'm looking for the most effective method and tool.

I had a fast bud (sweet seeds) fall over and decapitate itself...I thought ...poor thang....just pushed her to the back and fed whenever I played with the other juicys ........it grew to be a very nice plant wth some good nuggs....that kinda indicated to me that autos can be topped or fimmed....best to do it early before bloom really sets in.....I have a northern lights auto growing right now that I attempted to fim....waiting for recovery to see if I hit the right spot...with MS, I never know just WHERE I'm gonna snip sometimes...!!!!

The first auto I grew that got topped was a onyx x sour 60. It was growing up higher than my lights would go so I chopped her top off. It was a great harvest so I tried it again with a really tall Jem. Same reason and great harvest.

You could top one and see if it works out good for that strain.
