Sounds good to me, thanks for the link as well. Just one more quick and kinda random question. Im about to germinate two seeds today and my house stays fairly cold/room temp most of the time, I have a small/medium heat pad I can plug in with a thermostat. Would it be a good idea to put it on a low temp and place the plastic bag, plate, or plastic container on top of it? Or should I just let it be?

A little warmth can be good but you don't want to steam them. I've never had any problems germing seeds at the 70-80 degree temperature range.

I have a little thermometer that I can measure the temp of the inside of the container. But usually the house is anywhere from 65-74 degrees.

By the way love the name

If you're down in the 60s, adding some heat could help. But be careful with the heating pads since you don't really need temps to get above 85 or so. Lots of drug store models get much warmer even on the lowest setting. I'd check it carefully with a thermometer before leaving it for an extended period of time.

Weeds rocks. :D

I set everything up to just germinate one seed to make sure I do it correct. I put the container close to the heat pad but not directly on top of it. The thermometer I have says its around 78 degrees, we'll see how it goes.

Just checked the seed, and I see the root tip! Quick question, I remember reading somewhere that someone put a plastic ziplock bag over their party cups when they planted the seedlings. Does anyone else do this? Or am I fine just putting the cup in my grow room and watering when the soil gets dry?

I know that some ppl put the plastic over their cups as a moisture dome. Ive done that before and it seemed to work pretty good. Ive also done it without the plastic dome, but i have a humidifier in the room that keeps everything pretty humid. Worked both ways for me. Im not using the plastic this time through tho. But make sure you dont let the cup get too dry, but not too wet either.

Are you going directly unde your lights now?

Sounds good. I guess at first I won't use the ziplock bag, but if it starts getting dry too quick, I put one on.

Yes, Im putting them directly under the lights now.

You should be fine unless the RH of your grow area is very low (well under 50%) or if you have to leave the seeds unattended for a long period of time. For my last planting I didn't bother with the humidity dome but I did check in a couple of times a day to give the seedlings a light misting of distilled water.
