Indoor Question About Lighting. First Grow

In my grow tent I have 6 easy ryder seedlings at 3 days old. My humidity is running a bit on the low side constant 49% but the seedlings are really thriving. I dont have any added cups or bags covering them. This goes against almost everything I thought I knew about seedlings and humidity lol. I wouldn't stress it too much unless you start having problems.

I normally find sub 40% I have issues but remember humdity is relative with temp ie theres alot more water in the air at 40% rh at 25c than at 40% rh at 15c

thats why its call relative humdity (rh)

Good point. If you have a hygrometer that shows high/low over the past day, it'll swing back and forth with the temps as the lights go on and off.

I don't recall reading any AFN grow journals where a seedling dried out and died unless it got left alone for days. But I've seen plenty where they fell over due to damping off or even died. So keeping things too wet is more dangerous than too dry from what I've seen. To be honest, I think the growth in those first few days has more to do with the seed's vitality than it does external factors. Good seeds will just grow unless you put them in very hostile conditions.

is there anything wrong with leaving your lights on 24/7? i hear mostly 20/4 or 18/6 but havent heard much about 24 hours a day..

I definitely won't let them dry out. Ill be checking the grow room multiple times a day. But I won't wet them too much either.

So the first seed I planted is starting to sprout, and I just germinated another seed and potted her this morning. The one that is sprouting has a brown look to it, is this normal or maybe an indicator the lights are too close?
Thanks

theres little issues as 24/7 as this is the same as the summer soltice but some say you should 2 hours off but i have never seen any evidence of this

Here are the two girls I planted last week, they are about 2 days apart. Do you think next week I can move them to a bigger pot and start adding nutes? Im thinking about germinating one more, do you think that would be ok? Seeing as I have to start moving the lights closer to the two I already planted.

I usually start thinking about moving them to a larger pot when the leaves grow out past the edge of the cup. So you will probably be there in the next week. :smoke: Post up some more pics in a week before adding nutes. They look a little young for that right now.

Sounds good, Ill do that. What do you think about germinating another seed and adding it to the grow room now?
