Pruning colas

They’re autos indoors. Ive removed a few small shoots and their fans. Just don’t want to mess with them unless it’s helpful and as a first timer I’m a tad paranoid about cutting too much. As they grow and get crowded I’m assuming I’ll be cutting the lower stuff that’s getting blocked out.View attachment 1482203View attachment 1482204
those girls look superb and id imagine you could take small amounts off just don't go crazy say if you feel there blocking light etc also I take a lot of the lower stuff off so I don't have tons of popcorn-type buds but if you do make sure you give her time to recover before another round

Thanks Tom I haven’t removed any fans if I didn’t remove their shoot because I’m working on the assumption the fans are vital to growth of colas and shoots. Is it that the plant is developed enough that the stems and branches don’t need the fans as much anymore or am I just giving fans too much credit? I would love the opportunity to thin them out a bit but just so scared of stunting or stressing due to overactivity on my part.

for your first grow they look jaw-droppingly good and if it was my first grow I would do as little stress as possible and then on your second grow then get adventurous with maybe topping that's my take on it also fan leaves are like solar panels for your plants and they are vital that's why I always say go real easy, especially autos as with them having a set time

Hello growfriends I’d like to ask aprox what age do you guys prune the bottom section of your plants? Most pics I see here of all of your gorgeous plants have the entire bottom 30% or so trimmed. Mine are 32 and 39 days old and I’ve removed some low branches that I can tell won’t make the cut, should I just prune everything on the colas that are first and second growth from the bottom? If so I’d imagine it’s a slow and patient process to avoid stress?
I try to do my first round of schwazzing around the third week of flower then again around the 5th week of flower. The second round I will leaf strip and also sheer the colas to me able to get maximum air flow and light penetration to the bottom of the canopy. I grow SOG style so the heavy pruning might not be what you need but it’s a must with with the way I grow.

Could you post a shot showing them completely from the side from the pot up?

You don't have a super dense canopy with a vibrant green to everything. I only prune branches but if I have a concern for air flow then I would remove fan leaves connected to the inner main branches.

They’re sleeping now, this is from 2 days ago. Its the only current pic from the side and doesn’t show much detail. I’ll take more this afternoon
