i like it to dry quickly , yes watering more often sucks , but imho when it is good and airy and needing frequent watering i get hydro'ish yields while maintaining soil'ish quality

So do I. BX under LEDs and in standard nursery type pots can take 2 week between waterings. HP, every 5 days or so.

so theres my issue with bx. i over watered. thanks for that info. i bought a bail of hp cause i felt the bx held to much water.

If you've got some extra perlite you can mix in an additional 20 - 25% and it will dry out much faster. The only real difference between the two is that BX has vermiculite, which HP doesn't, and the percentage of perlite. HP has more.
