Old Reviews Pro mix HP = soilless

Im going to look into the aluminum sulfate, and see if i can get my hands on some.
Up to this point i have not added cal/mag before i add nutes. i could try giving that a whirl, maybe
that is where i am getting hung up. im thinking that if i am getting 102ppm out of my RO system then
maybe it isnt doing its job so good :( i went to our local food store and got a gallon from there RO system
that is self serve out front and i tested it and it came up 4ppm.. so maybe i got ripped on the RO system.
Ill come back on later when i am done at the hospital and read some more. Thank you

That's kind of high for RO. I've got a 5 stage, 100 gpd that I got off of eBay for about $100. It removes just about everything. My ppm usually ready in the 4-6 range. Your softener could be an issue. I would by pass it if you can and then see what your readings are.

Thank you muddy .. i didn't see this before my last post lol i didnt refresh the page.
I was thinking of bypassing the softener, and if your getting 4-5ppm then either i need a scrubbing carbon filter stage or the membrane is bad. I am in the middle of farm fields and my water out of the well is deadly! lol no exaggeration ecoli and other pathogens from the fields. i use a UV light before i even send it through the softener.
I knew that 102 was a bit high.. i will try to empty the tank out and retest it after i get home later.
Thanks again muddy
Peace

Keep me posted. I'm curious to see what you find.

Hows it going guys about 6 months ago i started jems under 400w super hps then around week 4 switched 7 female jems to 1000w super hps.i used airpots ND pROMIX HP but at the time i thought pro mix was soil, perlite, spaghnum peat moss etc, But come to find out i was having ph problems with my jems it was apparent they werent getting all the nutes they shouldve. i had 6.5 ph going in and 6.5 coming out so i was stumped why they werent absorbingt everything they should have. my 3 part of ADvanced nutrients was just a little over a year old and i still had alot left over so i call AN and they said they recoommend disposing after 3 years but they believe even after 3 years you should still b able to use it with proper storing. so i figured it wasnt ad nutes. i continued with what i was doing even though i knew something was wrong. the leaves were still discolored bud the budding was going good so whatever. Turns out Pro-mix hp is soilless so the whole time i had the ph at 6.5 it shouldve been 5.9! oh well no wonder y the leaves yellowed and some of the bud was fluffly. but i still got over 130g out of the 7 jems not included the popcorn nugs and trim ive been using for my bho runs. Just thought id let some newbs know the deal im not sure if the promix organic or the promix bx are soilless but the HP is! ya live and ya learn anyonne else make the same mistake as me??
Im running into the same issues. Im about to make the switch to Roots original with kind soil additive...Water only... hop this help my grow a bit

Without testing your pH you'll never really know, just guessing. If your soil pH is 7, and you feed at 5.8, you will obviously be lowering the pH, but it's only temporary. It will climb back up as the water is used. Over time continued feeding at the lower pH will bring the soil pH down. For instance, Pro Mix is usually 6.9 - 7 right out of the bag. Feeding it with 5.8 will show run off around 6.4. As the water is used up, the pH will climb back up around 6.8, then 6.7, 6.6, etc. Continued feedings at 5.8 will keep lowering it, and eventually it will stabilize around 6.4. I've done expensive test on this using both a liquid pH tester to set the feed pH and check run off, as well as a soil probe to test the actual soil pH. There is always an initial drop from the low pH feed, and it always rises as the pots dry out. In your case, I would have to say that your soil pH is too high to start with and has nothing to do with the pot size.
Dam, I,m liking this thread.... I,ve been having serious issues with my Promix HP. I was watering and feeding totally wrong... I was watering and feeding when the pot felt light, not necessarily completely as dry as it could be. I was checking my soil PH and it was around 6.8 - 6.6. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/problem-yellow-leaves-purple-stems.56888/page-2#post-1334227 link to my sick plant post. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/first-grow-ever.56578/ link to my first grow. When i planted the sprout in my medium I completely soaked the entire pot, with run off of about 10%. As you can imagine, the Promix sat wet for a while. do you think that could have been the start of my issues?

Hey guys, great info in this thread. I'm a total newb using a product similar to pro mix Hp called B'cuzz Hydromix Hp, 70% peat, 30% perlite.

Basically I was wondering what your feed schedule is? Currently I'm using Dutch nutrient formula Grow A and B and flushing with water ever third water. I'm on day 26, using a pH drip tester which I know isn't very accurate but I assume it's at 6.5 based on the colour chart. Just wondering of I should keep flushing and increase the feed since I'm coming up on my fourth week. Currently watering my 1G smart pot with 1L every 2 days under 96W of T5's

:peace:

Darth Vapour!! Hey man....running another awesome outdoor summer this year bud?

I run pro mix HP exclusively and sue advanced nutrients.

Never water yor whole pot at seedling. I actually start with 1/4 Liter waterings right at the base of the seedling then work my way up as the plant grows and can take it.

I learned from muddy and use 5 gallon pots. I never check the ph of runoff but when i mix my AN nutes in the bubbled tap ( to evap chlorine) the mix comes to 6.2 and i never have any issues watering this way.

I add powdered dolomite to my pro mix hp at a rate of 4tbs per gallon. Its not needed most of the time. I only starting adding it for the added calcium in my soil. When i switched to the hivh end lights with big bright cobs i had to up my game in feeding to keep up.

Heres my exact feed at the moment and if anyone wants to see the results just go to the main page and search my journald they are all full of picks.

1 tims weekly a double strength dose of RECHARGE in the root zone. Amount depends on plant size.

Day 1 to day 5= plain water bubbled 24 hrs with H&G Roots Excellurator at .5ml/L

Day 5 to day 20 = 1ml/L - Sensi Grow A and B / Vodoo Juice / B52 / Rhino Skin

Day 20 to day 30 = 2ml/L - Sensi Grow A and B / cal/mag (Demeters Destiny - GO cal- mag (each) 1ml/L - B52 / Rhino Skin / Sensizyme / Liquid W-8

Day 30 to day 35 = ) 2ml/L - Sensi Grow A and B / cal/mag (Demeters Destiny - GO cal- mag (each) 1ml/L - Voodoo Juice / Rhino Skin / Liquid W-8

Day 35 to day 40 = 2ml/L - Sensi Bloom A and B / cal/mag (Demeters Destiny - GO cal- mag (each) / Massive 1ml/L - Voodoo Juice / Liquid W-8 / Rhino Skin .5ml/L - Mammoth P

Day 40 to day 45 = 2ml/L - Sensi Bloom A and B / cal/mag (Demeters Destiny - GO cal- mag (each) / Massive 1ml/L - B52 / Sensizyme / Liquid W-8 .5ml/L - Mammoth P

Day 45 to day 60 = 2ml/L - Sensi Bloom A and B / cal/mag (Demeters Destiny - GO cal- mag (each) / Massive 1ml/L - B52 / Liquid W-8 / Finisher .5ml/ - Mammoth P

Thanks for that bud. I figured I was messing up somewhere. I'll go back into you journals and do some studying.
