Old Reviews Pro mix HP = soilless

HP is 65 - 75% peat, with the balance being perlite. BX is 75 - 85% peat with the balance being both perlite and vermiculite.

Yes, as far as I know. Really the only difference between the two mixes is that HP has more perlite and dries quicker than BX under HPS/MH.

That's why we recommend using the BX for HPS setups and the HP for T5,cfl and LED grows. I use BX with T5 and cfl, but I add plenty of extra PLAIN perlite to my mix, thus making it more like HP.

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a UK alternative to pro mix?
I can only find it available in the states! :finger:
:peace:

No, US, Canada and Central America only. In the UK look for BioBizz Light Mix or Plagron Light Mix. Both are very similar to Pro Mix.

That does look very similar but with the worm castings added, is more like Sunshine #4 than Pro Mix, making it a soil mix. Regardless, it looks like a good blend. I always used to add worm castings to my Pro Mix when I could buy them in bulk. When I lost that source, I went to straight Pro Mix.

Cheers muddy i wasnt sure how similar they were  its a mix I would like to try once i can find it in the uk

Thanks for the heads up on the Plagron Light Mix Muddy! Looks like the stuff to do the job

I was looking at the Biobizz light mix but it seems to have more ingredients, such as.. "a special 'pre-mix' (5%) of biologically active organic ingredients that have been fermented for a month to create a potent mixture."

Hey guys, great info in this thread. I'm a total newb using a product similar to pro mix Hp called B'cuzz Hydromix Hp, 70% peat, 30% perlite.

Basically I was wondering what your feed schedule is? Currently I'm using Dutch nutrient formula Grow A and B and flushing with water ever third water. I'm on day 26, using a pH drip tester which I know isn't very accurate but I assume it's at 6.5 based on the colour chart. Just wondering of I should keep flushing and increase the feed since I'm coming up on my fourth week. Currently watering my 1G smart pot with 1L every 2 days under 96W of T5's

:peace:

How does Promix Ulimate Organic compare in this discussion? "Stirring"

"kudos"

Promix organic is very good because it cointains mychorizae and other added organics.
