hi folks

I can have 50% humidity with no fans in my tent other than my inline fan that is scrubbing air with carbon filter. as soon I try putting my hurricane fan on in the tent it drops my humidity to 30%. thought I'd get a breeze going for my 3 mandarin cream auto that are only 2 inch tall now.lol. struggling to maintain a humidifier in my tent as it went nuts the other the day and my whole tent including lights got wet.if I put my humidifier outside my tent in the same room I still get decent humidity of 50% inside the tent. what would you do....keep the fan off until plants get bigger and dont need as much humidity then put them back on? grateful for thoughts

What are your temps like? Staying within VPD range would be most helpful.

How is the hurricane fan pushing out humidity? I'm confused about your setup

temps are about 75 f. I have 2x4x5 tent in my garage with 2 lights over 3 small plants. I don't know why but having the hurricane on is dropping my humidity by about 20%. per vpd range, I'm trying to get as close as I can...
but 60% was as high as I could get. I have the carbon filter inline fan running all the time. lights are 18/6.

What are you measuring your humidity with?

I'd check the humidity outside the tent as well. Is the garage sealed?

yeah. it's a sealed insulated garage. humidity is 50-60% in the garage and about same in the tent when i dont use the fan.

Watch where the fan is blowing the humidity. It could be that it is being sucked out of the carbon filter because the other fan is causing it to be pushed toward the filter or being better dispersed in the tent. It could also be where you are measuring humidity is getting hit hard if the fan is not on. I would move it around. I have found it is quite a delicate setup to maintain humidity. My problem is usually clogging filters with water or not enough humidity. Personally, I would rather have the humidity closer to VDP than moving the air around.

What is the air temperature of the garage. if it is 58°F at 60% RH then when that air gets warmed in the tent to 75°F the Relative Humidity would drop to ~30% . Or if the tent walls are cool enough the moisture could condense out of the air or some combination of this or other atmospheric influence.

I have humidifiers and dehumidifiers and I constantly make adjustments for the seasons. It is just part of growing.

That is what I was getting at lol.

@Outdoor_Auto_Canada (OAC) I'd treat your garage like a lung room and humidity the whole space up to 60%. If you can keep the garage around 65f+ then you're in/out temperatures can be more stable.

I run my whole room humidifier outside the tents at 60% with room temperature conditions. Fan blows around the room to keep everything circulated. Inside the tents will measure 55-65% RH with 80f temps. I was able to balance separate tents controlling the exhaust speeds and it has been a comfortable winter to grow in this year.
