Sup AFN,

My names Shumway, Been lurking around here for a while now and figured i'd show my little project i've been working on.

Ordered some beans on the 31st then it dawned on me i had nothing to grow them in...lol

After smoking a bowl and looking around it hit me and it has been sitting in front of me the whole time!

I had a cedar chest i was using for a coffee table and storage so now its time to put it to better use.

Cab is 15.5" x 13" by 40" high with 123 watts of cfl's (more can be added later)

Don't think its too bad for stuff i had laying around and not really any tools to work with :toke:

Looks great. Good use of something laying around., The only thing that I can think of is you will have to move your plants to the light instead of the other way around. Also dont forget to take into account the odor control as that is very important. Trust me on that one. I didnt think about it to much and had to do a few changes later on to deal with the smell.

Look forward to seeing your grow :)

Welcome to AFN!!

now that is ingenious
cedar is naturally pest resistant and
it smells fantastic
+ rep for that 1

Thanks Scott and roadside

Its not quite done yet as i'm going to put in an adjustable shelf in there when i get the cash to do it.

As for odor control i'm not too worried about that yet but it can be easily done if needed

For plant risers, look into Wal-Mart at there file/milk creates. They work perfectly. I do the same thing, my light is basically a fixed fixture.

Nice work to shumway...Can't wait to see your results....

Thanks for the idea ripster but i already have my mind set on what i'm going to use :D

Its cheap and is adjustable to like 1" at a time

That looks great, shum. I love seeing the DIY cabinet grows! How many plants are you planning to put in that space?

Damn that looks good! It is actually very simple and functional... I'll be checking out every update in this forum!

I'm still waiting on my order from dope seeds

Went with short stuff #1 since its my 1st time with auto's and i wanted something that stayed pretty small
