please help drying !! dense buds

I've never weighed anything wet but I just cover the bottom of the bag and I can always take a pic when I chop this fat petes cookies in a few days View attachment 1284214

No big deal on photo unless someone else wants it just didnt know do you try for an ounce dry per bag? I got about 36-40 grams once dried in each bag. I ask because you said you split bags after a few days. Was just curious the amount you try to aim for dry or if you did. Or just cover half the bottom of the bag? mine prolly covering half the bottom of the bags now.

i just generally try to keep halfing the bags and that sounds fine on the amount but i don't weigh anything till its jar time :smoking:also its more normally i have that many bags at the start i just want as little as possible to have to keep my eyes on its just user preference though bro

Day 11 of dry. Seems to be going well. One more day and I'll be putting them in jars.

Nice! Any idea of the average time to leave the buds in the paper bags? How they smelling??

Perhaps a dumb question, but could you put the paper bags in your grow tent with the lights on? Really want to take advantage of my carbon filter if possible when drying, but need the lights on for some younger plants. Thanks!

I just stubbled across this tread. Did you try paper bags above your lights? I am doing that now, never did it before. Worried a little bit about the temperature. Around 25c 77f. Some of the girls where not ready but need to use carbon filter. Will it be ok I winder

Forgot to update this. Let them go 13 days in paper bags. All went well. Unsure what to compare it too as this is a first time for these plants this way and these phenos but I did a 2 stage harvest. Tops were hung and bottoms ended up bags. I'd say the Terps are about equal In smell once dry. Uncertain if it's an improvement and it's a weird comparison because it's best buds vs the ones not. But to answer the question will I be doing it again. Yes I will. But I'm gonna do a side by side hang dry and bag dry with same plant and same kind of nugs. For myself. After this I prolly will just be going to bag method. Just because of the smell. No smell when bagged. Just want to test it to see. But for me the bag is a better way compared to my old way with where I am for sure.. and it works just fine.

Ya, buy at least ONE. You will have smokeable buds in 5 days....no hay taste......u just need a closet with a plug outlet within 4 -5 feet. You could hang it anywhere, it only smells if u unzip layers to check on the bud drying. Leave it plugged in 5 days.

I use that and big lawn paper bags........if its super dense I'd brown bag it 2 days and wedry it maybe 4.

In 35-40 days I'll have 4 pounds wet material from 2 plants. Easy pound dry. Will one XL work for both? Jw. I'm cool with trying one. Nothing wrong trying something new.

You can jam a 2 lb wet plant in an XL......u will get about 8 zips, maybe 8.5

try to keep the room where its plugged in at 60% RH

snip branches into 8 inch pieces or so
