New Grower Photosensitive! Cheese and Purple Haze scrog!

cant believe i have not seen this thread, awesome job so far,

regarding the scales being discussed a few pages back if you buy a cheap $5 scale on ebay
you can also buy $2 1g or 10g mini calibration weights.
when you get your scale put your little weight on it to check how accurate it is and away you go.

subbed for the rest of the grow

:bong:
Thanks for the scale advice homie. I still have yet to buy one, but I guess I ought to order it soon. I'll be sure to get some calibration weights. I used a dollar bill for calibration in the past. :]

Do you have the information from the seed bank as to how long it's expected to go in flower?? If you have that idea, and say it's a 60-75 day flower period, You could probably start scaling back some of the additives, and then in a few days, once trichs are just about where you want, you can begin thinking about a flush, if you're so inclined.. Generally, leaf tips going angling down, or clawing is a sign of N toxicity, which I got from my Blue Amnesia, towards the mid-end of flower, so I just dropped the Grow part of the nutes all together.. I like having just the very tips brown because it means you're at the very edge of the nute tolerance :)

Got any pictures??

Did a little quick search for the flowering period. Checked G13 labs, no useful info there. Attitude seeds didn't mention the time for cheese, but did say, "Purple Haze flowers between 50-65 days and produces a medium yield." That's mighty fast for a haze variety, but I know that's what they breed for in these kind of genetic crosses. Could that be an exaggeration though?

Either way, gonna bust out the scope and check trichs when the lights come on. I'll snap a couple leaf pics too to show you what they're up to. I would drop "grow," but I'm not using any. They just get whatever small bits of nitrogen are in the bloom and additives. Guess I'll use more EJ instead of biothrive, as it has 0 N. I am inclined to flush. I think I read before that the 3 Little Birds use fulvic acid in their flushes. I may try that this round.

Thanks for the advice!

Here's a shot of the Cheese's (Jesus?!) leaves. The Haze is just the same. Slightly burned tips and leaves curling down.

I suspect it doesn't matter really this late in the game, just gotta be sure not to give them any more nitrogen.

Checking trichs now, report back soon.

Alright, scoped the trichs.

It's weird to me how similar the two plants' trichs are for being different breeds. Their trichs seem to be just about the same. I scanned multiple budsites from each plant. Some in full light, some in shade, etc. It's about 80/20 milky/clear. I only found about 2 or 3 amber glands on each plant.

So for my preference, they've still got a ways to go. I was hoping the haze would be more traditional and have a longer ripening time, so that by the time it was ready, my cheese would have plenty of amber. Then I could harvest both on the same day and have a good supply of soaring haze and relaxing cheese.

I guess I just want to see them fatten up more. Is it realistic to expect that? I know my past autos swelled even after their leaves dropped off, right up until death.

lol damn thats funny. I look at your pics and wish my grow was going as well. I saw your pics and I'm like "damn I wish my buds would fatten up like his" and here you are wishing your buds would get fatter. I love it. ;D

Honestly, with as few ambers as you have on both, those plants could potentially go another couple weeks, but I'd keep an eye on it, perhaps every other day for the next week, and if you see the trichs start to change rapidly, chop 'er down!!! I'm not a betting man, but I'd venture to guess you're gonna be near the 1lbs. mark, no problem!!!!! :) Those plants look absolutely great!!!!! Just remember, when you're thinking about blazing a blunt, let me know, and I'll stop over with some WW, and we'll get down proper!!!

Lol, aiming high my man! I've seen fatter buds on my autos, so that's where my standard is set. We'll see how these plants compare.

A pound?! That's encouraging! I'm really bad at estimating weights, especially when it comes to dry herb. Don't even know what a pound of bud looks like!

I'm gonna be watching the trichomes like you said. The part I'm stressing about now is my holiday trip. I'll be out of state from the 21st til the 29th... depending on the way the plants go, it could be a crucial time. Guess I'll set up a thread for advice on how to set things on autopilot for what could very well be my "flush week."

Bring the WW by anytime. That's the first strain I ever smoked. Definitely a favorite. Grower after my own heart, haha!
