What happens when you germinate a photo when your location is already at 12/12 natural light? I know it’s 12 hours of night because I both checked the local tables for day/night and my Photo Acapulco Gold went into flower earlier this week.

In my infinite wisdom I planted a Chonga Choice Blue Kushberry a couple of days ago that has germinated and not sure what effect the shortened days will have. I already moved the AG into the tent as she already has a noticeable odor, so putting the Kushberry in the tent just gives it the same 12/12. (Possibly more as the days continue to shorten?) Plus the AG is rather grande as I manifolded her completely by accident before I knew what that was....... luck favors the bold/ignorant......

Anyway would appreciate any insight. Maybe I could just bring it in the house in the evening to give it additional light time? Does it matter? Will it just grow a tad and go straight to flower?

Obrigado,

Fred Garvin

A photo that is on 12/12 from germ will basically go thru seedling and straight to flower. Have done it many times.
Thank you for the quick response! Does it create any issues with the growth other than I would imagine it might be shorter/bushier?

Thanks again,

FG

Nope, it will behave as a normal photo just smaller. Have done it when I realized I wasn't going to fill a canopy and needed another sq foot or two of plants.

That is awesome news,

Muchas gracias,

Well Alien Technology, Blue Kushberry and Mendocino Skunk are all up and well. Since they are photo and will transition fairly quickly into flower due to the shorter days, is FIM’ng or topping possible? Or is it wiser to just let them do their thing?

Thanks again,

Fred Garvin

You kinda go thru the seedling stage and then into flower. You'll be able to do some light training, depending on strain and stretch, you might even be able to top. I usually don't stop spreading things until I see the stretch slowing up.

Another "been there done that" ....I usually flip my photos on 12/12 at 2 weeks of veg just to keep'em small and still get decent yeild.

Okay one last question and thanks for your patience and help......

Is there always a “minimum” number of nodes a photo plant will put out before going into flower? I.e. only flowers after five nodes or some such?

Muchas Garcia,

Fred Garvin

In regards to a healthy plant with no issues, at least up til now. I’m concerned about height.
So maybe a better question is if you are growing a photo during less than twelve hours of daylight does the breeders stated heighth kind of go out the window? Say if a plant is rated “tall” it stands to reason it wouldn’t get to it’s normal height due to the shorter days and would flower at a reduced height.

i haven’t used the word height that much in the last year.....

Best,

FredGarvin
