I think you are right on all counts. Lower the ph of the water going in until you get around 6.3 in run off.
I think you're right about the baking soda, but I have no experience with it.

You probably have a cal-mag def since the RO water has almost 0 ppm. It's probably not a ph lockout.
My best guess based on 3 months of experience. I use FFOF and have dealt with Mag def during my grow. Check the link in my signature if you want to compare.
Best of luck...

als when you look at the ph chart ou can see if your ph is up at 6.8 ish you're locking out magnesium... try adding a tsp / gallon of epsom salts to your watering 1x a week in addition to controlling ph better... :toke:

I told you help would come in a hurry! It doesn't get any better than JM. His words are gospel round here.

Thanks for the fast responses!

I don't take pictures for paranoid reasons :help:

The more I think about it and the more I hear from you guys the more I think it is a Cal-Mag deficiency because of the RO water. I will add epsom salts to the water more often and return to my original 6.2-6.4 water ph.

I'll report back the results.

I miss watching Looney Tunes with a buzz on lazy college afternoons... I almost coughed out a lung a few times laughing so hard.

I would agree with Stash above about using RO water and FFOF . I had all sorts of problems using filtered tap water, and with my auto, the same issues when flowering started, around week 3.5-4, with distilled water.

I am now using bottled spring water, and adjusting it to 6.4-6.6 with or without nutes, as I was told the PPM/micro nutes in it, would help.

So far, so good.

I would also check to see how bubbling your water affects your PH - when I did that - my PH would take a huge jump up in PH, until after I let it sit out overnight or for a few hours, then it would drop back down dramatically. So I just quit doing it.

epsoms for magnesium and molasses for calcium... molasses 1 tsp / gal 1x a week

ph your water.... then bubble it... ph will read high but when the oxygen is released it falls back to prior to bubbling..
