So I've been reading into it, and the pH probe seems to require more care than the TDS/EC Probes... how important is this for our purposes? I can understand in a lab environment, wanting to be SPOT ON, but how bad is the drift?

It looks like I can store the electrode in a simple potassium chloride solution (available at the grocery store as 'lite salt'), but I have no idea what concentration it should be at.

Do you guys use a pH 7 Buffering solution to 'wet' the electrode when you first start, or is that more optional?

You should probably look after the probe.

In the instructions for my ph tester it says to keep the probe soaked in storage solution or ph4 buffer. It also says "if it dries, it dies"

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out what the concentration of the solution should be. They recommend the Hannah HI70300 storage solution, which is apparently the same as the Milwaukee MA9015, but damn if I can find what the concentration is. I mean, it's not expensive, but I already have potassium chloride, why spend ten bucks + shipping + wait time if I don't have to?

Ah I see. I already have ph4 and ph7 calibration fluid so I just use a few drops of the ph4.
